This page was created to provide information about events and other news happening in the local burner community, as part of the Burning Man Regional Network of communities. This page will also be used to provide information about Burning Man to our community at large. Please encourage your friends to like this page if they're curious about Burning Man or would like to know more about getting invo
lved in our local Burner community. You do not have to be a Burner or have attended Burning Man to be a part of our community. A love of the arts and a respect for others and your community is all you need to contribute and participate. The Burning Man Regional Network is the year-round embodiment of the Burning Man experience, supporting it as a global cultural movement. In cities around the world, the Burning Man Project has established Regional Contacts whose role is to help local Burners connect with each other, while bringing Burning Man principles and culture into their local communities. The community strives to follow the core values that define the Burning Man culture, described in the Ten Principles of Burning Man, specifically: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self-reliance, Radical Self-expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leaving No Trace, Participation, and Immediacy.

"What is Burning Man? Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. Burning Man is also an ever-expanding year-round culture based on the Ten Principles. What Isn't Burning Man? Burning Man isn't your usual festival, with big acts booked to play on massive stages. In fact, it's more of a city than a festival, wherein almost everything that happens is created entirely by its citizens, who are active participants in the event. First Time at Burning Man? If you're making your first foray to Burning Man, and you're wondering where to start, head over to our First Timer's Guide. http://www.burningman.com/first_timers/
For more information on the event that happens in Nevada, see http://www.burningman.com/
For more information on the Burning Man community at large, see http://www.burningmanproject.org/
“Burning Man” is understood not as an event, but as referring to a way of life lived consistently with these Ten Principles. The Burning Man Project provides infrastructural tools and frameworks that will allow people to apply the Ten Principles in many communities and spheres of endeavor.
