Ragfinery’s mission is to grow a culture of creative textile reuse through education, entrepreneurial opportunities, and job training.

Ragfinery opened in April 2014 as the second “jobs from waste” project of ReUse Works.

Thoughts on spending less, using what you’ve got for longer, and building skills learning how to care for & fix your stuff???

Ragfinery will be repairing & sharing skills at the The RE Store | Salvaged building materials & furniture Whatcom County Library System sponosored Share & Repair Fair on Sunday, October 18th from 12-4 at the Pioneer Pavilion in Ferndale! We’ll be offering garment repair, mending instruction, and even Patch-a-Whatever-You-Want at our patch bar. The WhatcomCountyHealth will be hosting a clothing swap…a perfect opportunity to find a new piece to personalize with a fun patch 👀

Compensation for these services will be in the form of sharing and swapping. You might consider bringing any hand tools, art supplies, non-perishables & garden surplus, or even some garden seeds that you’re interested in giving a new home. Clothing donations for the swap will be collected ahead of time, with drop off locations at the Ferndale City Hall lobby and the Ferndale Public Library.

We’re really looking forward to repairing alongside so many other fixers and blending efforts with our community partners to keep items out of the landfill. See y’all there :)

Heads up! We’ll be returning to the 🫜 Bellingham Farmers Market 🫜 TOMORROW (10/3) from 10-2pm to offer some FREE mending!!! Drop your fixes off with our fabulous volunteers then take some time to peruse all the market has to offer before circling back around to pick up your good-as-new garment. We’re stoked to be back at one of Bellingham’s crown jewels, see y’all out there :)

WOW! Y’all blew us away...after a week of receiving over 60 applications (😳) we are moving the process forward of finding our next workshop coordinator. Thanks to all who applied, y’all certainly aren’t making this an easy decision and we are so grateful for the widespread interest and sheer talent we’ve received. It never ceases to amaze the breadth of creativity and know-how that our community holds, and we’re stoked to make a new addition to our incredible & eclectic team. It’s dark in here…help us turn the lights on! Please support us in the reopening of the Ragfinery Community Classroom and workshop!

After losing our building and entire stock to a fire in 2025, we’ve slowly (but surely) been finding our way back. When a space became available in the building that houses our new shop, we knew we had to jump on the opportunity to reopen our Community Classroom. Because believe us, we’ve heard y’all loud and clear…Workshops, open studio, resource sharing, we’re heading allll the way back to what you know and love about Ragfinery.

Since this space came to us so abruptly, we are once more asking for your help to make it happen. Without you all, it’s just an empty room (and so many mirrors, hiiii OPoleStudios !)

We’re low on our fabric supply and are calling for your unwanted stashes! Unused material? Low on space? Want to support your fave local arts & thrift? All of the above? Bring us your fabric!

Also, if you haven’t peeped our updated donation guide, we are now accepting CLEAN drapery, sheets, pillow cases & duvet covers.
