The Comeback!

The QRC is excited to announce that the annual drag show will be returning for its 30th year!! Tickets will be available starting early next week (check our insta story) to purchase online, but please remember to pick up your physical ticket at the box office (located inside the PAC, near the entrance doors).

On the night of the show, please bring cash tips (if you can) to help compensate the performers! If you don’t have cash, performers’ venmo and cashapp will also be available for tips.

We are partnering with Rumors again this year to provide a comped cover charge for bringing your physical ticket stub to Rumors following the drag show. The stub is needed to get in without payment, no exceptions.

Can’t wait to see you there :)

"This event is co-hosted by ZAMI NOBLA: The National Organization of Black Le****ns on Aging.

When Moya Bailey first coined the term misogynoir, she defined it as the ways anti-Black and misogynistic representation shape broader ideas about Black women, particularly in visual culture and digital spaces. She had no idea that the term would go viral, touching a cultural nerve and quickly entering into the lexicon. Misogynoir now has its own Wikipedia page and hashtag, and has been featured on Comedy Central's The Daily Show and CNN's Cuomo Prime Time. In Misogynoir Transformed, Bailey delves into her groundbreaking concept, highlighting Black women's digital resistance to anti-Black misogyny on YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, and other platforms."

Charis welcomes Moya Bailey in conversation with Catherine Knight Steele for a celebration of Misogynoir Transformed: Black Women's Digital Resistance. This event is co-hosted by ZAMI NOBLA.

The Show Must Go On!

Beause of, you know, the Annual Q***r Resource Center Drag Show won't look the same this year as before. But that doesn't mean it won't be a fun gay time! The 29th Annual QRC Drag Show will be a zoom panel focusing on the history of drag, followed by a Q&A featuring local drag performers. The event will be on Thursday, April 29th, from 6-7:30pm PST.

Guest performers include... Rita LaRue, Issa Mann, Kylie Mooncakes, Londyn Bradshaw, Kris Gender, Betty Desire, and Rikki Sensation!

The Annual Q***r Resource Center Drag Show is a drag show benefit put on by the AS Q***r Resource Center every year. This year will mark the 29th year of the drag show tradition! On a non-pandemic year, the Drag Show is a live event in the Performing Arts Center, and features about 8-10 drag performers with an audience of about 500! All ticket profits were divided evenly between local Bellingham organizations, Lifelong and Sean Humphrey House, who are organizations that provide health and housing resources to the LGBT community and individuals with HIV/AIDS.
