Day 26🎉 of 100 Days of Trans Solidarity!

Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community face heightened mental health challenges due to discrimination and violence. Discrimination heightens depression, anxiety, trauma responses, and toxic stress. Stress affects virtually every system of the body, which means discrimination harms people both mentally and physically. This contributes to health inequity for marginalized communities—and shows why joy, rest, and safety are important parts of trans healthcare.

Swipe through to see our Sociopolitical Stress Support Toolkit - a trans-centered mini guide to joy, well-being, and resistance🥰

Day 26 Activities!

Give: Donate to TGE and 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations who directly bring together our community and offer support groups for anyone in need of help. Check out any of our previous 100 DTS posts to see our partners and friends in this space who are doing amazing work.

Act: Send this post to someone who could benefit from finding ways to center joy in times of distress. You could offer to have a phone call with them if they want support.

Care: Create a self-care plan that will bring you joy and connection with others. Make a time to engage in your self-care plan for next week and write down how it made you feel and what you'd like to do differently next time.

Day 23 🎉 of 100 Days of Trans Solidarity!

Today, we are promoting therapists and mental health providers in Washington, Oregon and Idaho who are trans, Two-Spirit, intersex, and gender-expansive.

Gender-affirming therapists with lived expertise can offer support and resources to reduce stigma, marginalization, and violence upon TGE people in these troubling times. Therapy that gets to the root cause of trauma, stress, and mental health supports unique to the TGE community is imperative to our survival, healing, and joy.

Please join us in uplifting and promoting trans+ therapists across the Pacific Northwest, such as:

Jupiter Jordyn McGee (WA), Lee Stewart (ID), Mace Slizoski (OR), Ardyn White (WA), and René Wilson McCaul (WA)

Swipe through the post to learn a little more about their approaches and identities.

Day 23 Activities -

Give: Please donate to the National Q***r & Trans Therapists of Color Network to support QTBIPOC therapists and community members!

Act: Tag a PNW Trans-Led or Trans-Focused Therapy Group that you think we should partner with!

Care: Go to to get lots of ideas and fun tips that may be useful in taking care of mental health as a member of the TGE community! Make sure to check in with yourself about what type of support you need most right now. Consider connecting with a therapist, peer support group, or safe loved one.

Day 22 🎉 of 100 Days of Trans Solidarity!

Our community aid directory holds many urgent needs requests from trans community members. Most of these are for basic needs like housing, food, water, transportation, medical, and things that keep us alive. For trans folks, these basic needs are harder to access due to discrimination, transphobia, and disconnection. Please donate to any on the community aid directory that has $0 in donation so far !

Day 22 Activities!

Give: Donate if able to on any of the individual aid requests on transwa.org/cad and those with $0 aid donations so far.

Act: Please share Trans-Wa’s Community Aid Directory and consider sharing one individual person’s fundraiser!

Care: Reach out for help if you need it ! Even if its a small self-care task

Day 18 🎉 of 100 Days of Trans Solidarity!

Today, we want to talk about solidarity with immigrant, refugee, and undocumented folks. Trans and gender-expansive communities are disproportionately impacted by harmful immigration and movement-restriction policies, and vice versa. Immigrant and refugee communities are also disproportionately negatively impacted by anti-trans policies.

Migration *without borders* and the infinite spectrum of gender have existed as long as the earth, despite the narratives that anti-trans and anti-migrant policies try to rewrite. Both borders and binaries were made to push us out, but they will not erase us.

We stand in solidarity with our trans and gender-expansive siblings who are undocumented. We stand in solidarity with those detained at the Northwest Detention Center. You are not alone.

Day 18 Activities:

Give: Please donate to La Resistancia (https://laresistencianw.org/donate/) to support advocacy and mutual aid for people detained in the PNW right now.

Act: Sign petitions for release (linktr.ee/laresistencianw), volunteer, provide mutual aid support, or help organize a solidarity day! Learn about local rapid response teams. Or visit https://laresistencianw.org/take-action/ for more ways to take action.

Care: Reach out to loved ones, friends, colleagues, and community members who might be impacted by the immigration sweeps, even if you don't think they're directly impacted. This is a unfathomably stressful and painful time for many BIPOC folks, especially those who are from or have close proximity to immigrant and refugee communities.

Day 16 🎉 of 100 Days of Trans Solidarity!

May 19th is Agender Pride Day, a worldwide day of celebration for our agender community members. Starting in 2017, it provides space to celebrate and promote awareness of agender identities and communities.

In general, agender refers to identities where a person does not have a gender or experiences a completely neutral gender. Agender is also often used as an umbrella term for various identities related to feelings of genderlessness. For example, folks might identify as gendervoid, ungendered, genderblank, gender neutral, etc.

Each identity has a slightly different meaning and the spectrum of genderlessness and gender neutrality is vast and diverse. Awareness and education are critical for fostering safety, acceptance, care, and joy for our communities.

Day 16 Activities!

Give: Support an agender creator, mutual aid fundraiser, or trans-led organization helping build safer, more affirming futures for agender communities.

Act: Take time to learn more about agender identities and challenge gendered assumptions in your language or spaces.

Care: Reflect on what freedom from gender expectations feels like (or would feel like) for you. What assumptions, expectations, or roles feel most freeing to release?

Day 15 🎉 of 100 Days of Trans Solidarity!

On May 17th International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia[ (IDAHOBIT) is observed. The day is commemorated by over 130 countries. It serves as a way of raising awareness of LGBTQIA+ rights atrocities worldwide annually since 2004.

May 17th was chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization's decision to declassify homosexuality as a mental health disorder. In light of recent and ongoing violence, building awareness against these topics is critically important.

Please join us in commemorating IDAHOBIT on May 17th and raise awareness of the necessary work left to be done to protect human rights of LGBTQIA+ persons everywhere.

Day 15 Activities!

Give: Donate to local organizations that provide legal protection, mental health support, offer resources, and directly impact q***r and TGE folks.

Act: Educate yourself on ways to be an ally for the people in your community. Take a step further by adding to our pledge platform with what it is you are going to do to be a better ally padlet.com/transwa/100

Care: Reach out to friends and family who experience this type of violence daily. It is so important to be in community with our loved ones who can help support through difficult times.

Day 14🎉 of 100 Days of Trans Solidarity!

Right now, delays, denials, and nonconsensual changes to Trans and gender-expansive peoples' vital documents---both at the federal level and in many states across the U.S.---are causing us extreme stress, distress, and fear. These harmful actions have increased travel restrictions, surveillance, policing, and erasure of trans+ folks nation-wide, and contributed to worsening health and mental health outcomes.

Identity documents that align with our correct gender and name are not only affirming, but contribute to our safety, economic security, education access, health, mental health, and ultimately our survival. They also improve our access to critical services and rights, such as social services, healthcare, voting, and other forms of civic participation.

Day 14 Activities!

Give: Visit our Community Aid Directory at qrco.de/twcad and donate to any individual aid requests with the tag "documents"!

Act: Speak up and spread the word! Share our Community Aid Directory, amplify individual fundraisers, and advocate for accessible, affordable, and affirming ID-change processes in response to harmful policy shifts.

Care: Offer hands-on community support! Accompany a friend to the courthouse, provide moral support or body-double as they fill out forms, or help someone register for one of our upcoming Name and ID Change Clinics at transwa.org/nidc
