🎙️ WRA ON THE AIR! 📻🚣

A few of our Whatcom Rowing junior athletes traded oars for microphones this morning and joined the crew at KAFE 104.1 FM!

Our rowers got an early start, spending the morning in the studio talking rowing, sharing a little about WRA, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at live radio.

A huge thank you to KAFE 104.1 for inviting our athletes in and giving them the opportunity to share the sport they love with our Bellingham community. ❤️

Pretty fun way to start the day. 🎧🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️

AND always, a big thank you to our community for continued support! .1 LFS Marine & Outdoor Whatcom County Parks and Recreation Jeremey Beck

Meet the varsity. 🚣‍♀️❤️

What’s it actually like to row for Whatcom? We asked one of our varsity rowers to share a little about the experience, the team, and why they keep coming back to the water.

And if you’re watching this thinking, “I’ve never rowed before…” — that’s exactly how most rowers start.

Fall registration is OPEN!

No experience necessary. Just show up ready to learn, work hard, make friends, and discover what you can do.

Fast water. Fast racing. Great effort.

Our Men's Quad took on the shortened 500m course at the Green Lake Summer Extravaganza Regatta and left it all on the water.

Way to race, gentlemen!

A stormy, end of June weekend at Dexter Reservoir in Oregon didn't dampen the spirits of 5 Whatcom MASTERS who made the adventure to NW Regionals and brought home Silver (Mixed 2x) and Bronze (Womens 4x) medals as well as hardware for a composite team with MillTown (Gold - Mens 2x). We love taking the show on the road, we love sharing the boat with other teams and the Medals just broaden the smiles.

The Whatcom Rowing MASTERS took their rowing prowess on the road, north of the border to Cascadia Regional Regatta at Burnaby Lake in BC - which drew over 900 entries from as far East as Ottawa and as far south as California. WRA brought home 2 silver (Mixed 4x, Mens 2x) and bronze (Mixed 2x). We are super proud of our Learn to Row graduates who raced a novice 4x with great determination.
