Bellingham TheatreWorks We are a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on producing high-quality theatre in and around Bellingham, WA.

We support local playwrights, actors, and creatives through our productions. We introduced Fairhaven Summer Repertory Theatre in Summer 2019. Bellingham TheatreWorks was founded by Mark K***z and Steve Lyons. The mission of Bellingham TheatreWorks is to produce stories of significance to the Pacific Northwest, with an emphasis on local actors and local playwrights.

“If you’ve been keeping up with Fairhaven Summer Repertory Theatre (FSRT) lately, you know this year’s theme is the American family…In keeping with the theme, Mark K***z of Bellingham TheatreWorks cast as many actual family members as possible in this year’s three shows. In Appropriate, Chris Cariker plays Bo, the father of Ainsley, who’s played by—you guessed it—his own son, Hatton Cariker. In Brighton Beach Memoirs, siblings Kellyann Walbeck and Sean Walbeck play Kate and Jack, a married couple and the parents of Eugene Jerome, Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical protagonist. And although they won’t be appearing onstage together, Dany Shaw and her daughter Chloe Shaw will appear in Appropriate and Brighton Beach Memoirs, respectively.” -Kelsey Tribble for FSRT

Meet the directors of the 2026 Fairhaven Summer Repertory Theatre!

Mark K***z, directing “Brighton Beach Memoirs” by Neil Simon

Mark recently retired from Western Washington University where he has been on the faculty since 1996. Before then he was on the faculty at Eastern Oregon University. Mark’s BA in theatre is from the University of Washington and his MFA in directing from the University of Oregon. Mark was the artistic director of the Mount Baker Theatre Rep series where he directed over 20 productions and is currently in his twelfth year as artistic director of Bellingham TheatreWorks. Mark is the past National Chair of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, and past chair of The Northwest Drama Conference.
