In Loving Memory of DeAnna Katheleen Marie Birdsall (Pitts)
DeAnna Katheleen Marie Birdsall (Pitts) passed away peacefully at her home in Blaine, Washington, on July 27, 2026. She was born on August 8, 1960, in Portland, Oregon, to Ila Jean Atnip and Lewis Francis "Sonny" Burres, and was soon after lovingly adopted by Edgar G. Pitts Sr., who raised her as his own.
DeAnna spent many years living in the Lebanon, Oregon area, as well as in Oak Harbor and Bellingham, Washington, before making her home in Blaine. Throughout her life, she enjoyed being active in her community and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks Lodge, and Moose Lodge.
In the early 1980s, DeAnna began taking computer coding classes and went on to build a career in information technology, working with computers for many years. She had a creative spirit and loved writing short stories, though she rarely shared them with others. She also had a passion for photography, spending decades behind the camera capturing the lives of her family and friends, as well as the beauty of nature and the places she loved. As retirement approached, she looked forward to one of life's greatest joys—simply being "Grandma."
DeAnna is survived by her son, Dustin Pitts, and his wife, Sarah Pitts. Their family includes Kyle Pitts and his daughters, Brynleigh and Elianna; Kaylee Dentel and her husband, Jaykob, and their son, Carter; Katie Pitts; Samantha Thiesen and her husband, Andrew, and their children, Riggs and Scottie; and Elisabeth Wolfisberg and her husband, Luke, and their son, Luca.
She is also survived by her daughter, Jessica Brown, and her husband, Sir Rasce Brown. Their family includes Jeremy Gray and his wife, Michaela, and their son, Miles; Christopher Gray; Lyla Brown; Sir Rune Brown, his girlfriend, Katy, and their children, Mitchell and Coleson Brown, along with Addilyn, Aiden, and Ariya Sklarva; and Paxton Brown and his wife, Morgan.
She is further survived by her brothers, Edgar Pitts Jr. (Dorrie), Thomas Pitts II, Gregory Pitts (LeAnna), and Garry Pitts.
DeAnna was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph Gray; her mother, Ila Jean Pitts; her fathers, Edgar G. Pitts Sr. and Lewis Francis "Sonny" Burres; her sister, Rhonda Deibele; her brother, Bradley Pitts Sr.; her nephew, Ryan Pitts; her cousin, Hayley Jones; and her grandparents, Ila Beatrice and Gilbert Withrow.
Above all else, DeAnna loved her family. The moments she shared with them, the memories she captured, and the love she gave will remain with those who knew her. She will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and profoundly missed.
