Due to the frightful weather forecast for Saturday, the Bellevue Community Foundation has decided to change the Very Merry Christmas Celebration at Washington Park back to a Drive-Through Event.

This will allow everyone to stay warm and comfortable in their cars while still enjoying the holiday fun.

Residents can drive through to see Santa, check out some big trucks, and receive plenty of holiday goodies without having to step out into the cold.

Please join us at the corner of Mission and Franklin from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Saturday, December 13th, for all the festivities, including a special sneak peek at the eight new songs added to the Light Up Bellevue Light and Music Show at Washington Park—featuring a brand-new tribute to Santa -as you drive through the park.

Thank you for your cooperation as we try to make this event more enjoyable for all. We look forward to celebrating with you as you head through the Drive Through Line!

Thank you to the Bellevue Street Department and the Bellevue Police Department for their work to ensure that holding the Drive Through Christmas Celebration would be possible this year.

Had a great time helping at the Shop with a Hero Event, a program where Bellevue kids who are nominated by their teacher are paired with a police officer or fire fighter for a $100 shopping trip: $50 for a toy or game and $50 for clothing and essentials🎄🎄

Just a reminder:
“Don’t let your pumpkins go to waste! Compost your holiday pumpkins and gourds.

Instead of sending your jack-o'-lanterns to the landfill, bring them to our recycling event. We'll turn your decorations into nutrient-rich compost!

When: Nov. 7 (12:30p-3:30p), Nov. 8 (8a-12p)
Nov. 10 (7a-3:30p), Nov. 12-14 (7a-3:30p)
Nov. 17 (7a-12:30p)
Where: 8902 Cedar Island Rd. Bellevue Mayor's Youth Council

How to prepare your pumpkin:
• REMOVE all decorations. This includes candles, stickers, googly eyes, glitter, yarn, and paint.
• CLEAN all candle wax from the interior of carved pumpkins.

Why compost your pumpkin?
• Reduces landfill waste. Organic waste, like pumpkins, creates harmful methane gas when it decomposes in a landfill.
• Enriches soil. The nutrients from your pumpkin are recycled into valuable compost to nourish greenspaces.
• Saves money. Less waste in the landfill helps reduce disposal costs for the city.”
