EQUINE PAPERWORK

Dates that each paper or test is valid for the 2026 Chief Joseph Trail Ride:

_Health Certificate: On or after June 26, 2026
_Declaration of Equine Fitness: On or after June 26, 2026
_Negative Coggins: On or after July 26, 2025

If you show up to the ride and have paperwork dated BEFORE THESE DATES then you will be turned away and not allowed to stay or ride on the 2026 Chief Joseph Trail Ride. This is about the health and safety of all equine that are on this ride. Every single equine involved in this ride MUST HAVE VALID PAPERWORK!!!!

Your Health Certificate and Negative Coggins are commonly done via online these days, so a print out copy of that is fine. Just be SURE that the vet clinic has put in your horse's FULL REGISTERED NAME exactly how it is written on their registration paper for us to be able to cross compare with their images and in person as well. If your ApHC registered horse does not have their full registration name listed on their paperwork then we cannot accept the paperwork. The horse will NOT be earning their miles through the ApHC, and you will then shift to that horse being a "non-ApHC horse" and you'll be paying the fee difference between an ApHC registered horse and a non-ApHC registered horse before you can ride. Your horse will be ridden that week as "unregistered" and will not earn miles for awards.

Q: What versions are acceptable for paperwork?

_ApHC Registration Papers: ORIGINAL PAPER
_Declaration of Equine Fitness: ORIGINAL PAPER (If you show up with a copy then we will assume that you've forged it, have your vet sign this paper in person when you're getting your horse's Health Certificate done.)
_Health Certificate and Negative Coggins: These commonly come on the same paper together and are done online, copies of this are fine.
