It is with a heavy heart and a bunch of great pictures of great memories that we announce the five season run of SWAT 02 has come to an end. We will not be continuing as a team next season. Included a few pictures from over the five seasons. Special recognition to Hanako #12, Kaci #10, Julia #9, Claire #3, and Anna #18 for being the 5 original teammates that played until the end in Virginia last week. To the players, coaches, parents, families, even the umpires, to everyone who helped make SWAT 02 such an incredible success story, I will be eternally grateful, thank you from the bottom of my heart! And a very special thank you to coach Patti Lande for taking a chance on me way back in the summer of 2014! Thanks coach!!! Go SWAT!!! Mike

Wanted to thank everyone who followed and supported us this past “season” (Sept 2018 - Aug 2019 😂). Thanks to all the parents and families for getting the players on the field. Wanted to thank Huy Nguyen and Mike Miller for handling Game Changer all year. Victoria Alexandro Bigelis for keeping score and helping with accounting. Stacy Bitton Gordon for all she did for us in Colorado and Virginia/DC. Meribeth Holec for ordering/designing uniforms. Curt Towey for his help as assistant coach. And, most of all, very special thanks to Kevin Gordon, coach, travel agent, chauffeur, trainer, chef, launderer, tour guide, equipment manager, video technician, etc. etc. It was a very special year and I am grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. Sorry I didn’t get a photo but SWAT 02 was knocked out of the tournament today in a heart breaker 4-3. In true SWAT fashion, all 14 players played today as we again fought to the very last at bat. The tourney did not go as we would have liked but we learned a lot about ourselves, this game, and life. Couldn’t be prouder as a coach and a father of these girls. As I told them, it’s been an honor and a privilege sitting on a bucket watching them play! Go SWAT!!! Now on to next year!!!

Down 3-0 going into the bottom of the 7th inning facing tourney elimination, SWAT scores 4 runs to win in walk off fashion with 2 outs! This team always fights, never quits. Back in action tomorrow at 1 pm local, 10 am back home. Catch us streaming on Swat Fastpitch! Go SWAT!!!
