The Problem

•Village parents typically do not have an education beyond 6th grade, are focused on survival, and have difficulty modeling the importance of additional education.
•Families often do not have sufficient financial resources to pay for education beyond 6th grade. Value of Nicolás Fund for Education

Today NFE/NicolásChristian School is hosting a professional development training day for 154 primary school teachers in the area. It’s the only training these teachers will receive this year. This is a community service that Nicolás Christian School does for the Ixil region. We want to promote better education for ALL students in the Ixil region. Our dear friend Jorge Preciado from Seattle Pacific University is one of the presenters. SPU has been a long-time partner for these professional development events at our school.
