MENTOR Washington is offering a virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid certification training on August 18, facilitated by our Executive Director, Jolynn Kenney.

This nationally recognized course helps adults better identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges among youth ages 12–18.

Registration includes required pre-work, live virtual instruction, and course materials.

This virtual course includes 2 hours of required self-paced pre-work and a 5-hour live interactive training.

Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2026
Time: 9 AM–2 PM
Registration Deadline: Monday, August 3

Paid registration helps cover the cost of the licensed certification seat and materials. Scholarships may be available by request.

Nonprofit financial literacy is essential to organizational sustainability, strategic decision-making, and mission impact.

MENTOR California and MENTOR Washington are pleased to partner together for Nonprofit Finance: What You Need to Know, a virtual training led by Doug Wells.

This session will take place on Tuesday, June 23 from 12:30–2:30 PM and is designed for nonprofit professionals, executive directors, board members, program managers, operations staff, and community leaders.

As organizations continue working to meet the needs of youth and communities, financial clarity becomes a critical part of building capacity, strengthening programs, and supporting long-term impact.

We’re looking for workshop leaders for the 2026 West Coast Mentoring Conference to help us connect the dots for young people navigating the game of life.

We’re especially seeking sessions that support what our communities and youth programs need most right now:
• Peer-to-peer mentorship
• Mental health and wellbeing
• Mentor recruitment and retention
• Stronger connections across schools, programs, and community

If you have strategies, lived experience, or expertise in these areas—we want to hear from you.

Selected presenters will receive a $300 stipend to share their knowledge and help move this work forward.

MENTOR Washington is partnering with Rebuilding Hope Sexual Assault Center for Safety Over Secrets, a three-part learning series designed for mentors, educators, and caring adults supporting youth.

Together, we’ll explore:
• The foundations of sexual violence
• How trauma can show up in youth behavior
• Practical ways adults can respond with care and support
