🕸️ HEROINES & HIGHBALLS: Cocktails, Costumes & a Little Bit of HERstory 🥃✨

NAWIC Puget Sound and Build With Pride Seattle are teaming up again for a night celebrating the women who have challenged expectations, broken barriers, made history, and inspired us along the way.

On October 29th, we’re taking over Side Hustle Local - Bothell, WA, Bothell’s private speakeasy for an evening with a twist: come dressed as your favorite female icon, past or present. Think activists, artists, athletes, scientists, trailblazers, rebels, cultural icons… or Dolly Parton, because obviously Dolly always belongs in the room. 😉

Expect cocktails, costumes, a costume contest, drag performance, snacks, drinks, and plenty of connection between two communities that believe there’s a lot more power in building spaces where everyone belongs.

In celebration of Construction Inclusion Week, NAWIC Puget Sound is bringing back Coffee & Conversations! ☕ ❤️ 🖤 🤍

Our small-group gatherings designed for something we could all use a little more of: real conversation and genuine connection. Just coffee, a thoughtfully chosen topic, and an intimate group willing to share their experiences and diverse perspectives.

This month's conversation will explore mentorship, sponsorship, opportunity, and belonging through three simple questions:

WHO OPENED THE DOOR?
We'll reflect on the people who saw something in us, advocated for us, made an introduction, taught us something, invited us into the room, or simply gave us a chance.

WHAT HAPPENED ONCE YOU WALKED THROUGH IT?
Getting an opportunity and feeling like you truly belong aren't always the same thing. We'll talk about the moments, people, and workplace cultures that made us feel heard, valued, and included and some of the unwritten rules we've had to figure out along the way.

WHOSE DOOR ARE YOU OPENING NOW?
We'll turn the conversation forward. Who could benefit from an introduction, invitation, recommendation, mentorship, stretch opportunity, or simply someone saying, “You belong here, too”?

Come as you are. Share as much or as little as you'd like. There are no perfect answers and no expectation that everyone has the same experience.

Hey, North End — we’re coming to YOU! 🍻👷‍♀️

One of our goals this year is to make sure NAWIC Puget Sound is truly reaching our entire Puget Sound community (Sea-Bham).

We know getting to Seattle for an event isn’t possible for everyone, so we’re making an intentional effort to bring more opportunities north and connect with our members and industry friends closer to where they live and work.

We have a northend task force looking for good places, spaces, and projects to feature between Mt Vernon-Bellingham. Please reach out if you'd like to be more involved as we expand our reach!

Join us Monday, September 28th at in Bellingham for our North End Mixer. No presentation. No agenda. Just an easy afternoon to grab a drink, make some new connections, catch up with familiar faces, and strengthen our construction community.
