Communities are stronger when people and organizations choose to advocate for one another.

We're grateful to Ashurst Perkins Coie for serving as an Advocate Sponsor of PorchLight's 2026 Light the Way Luncheon.

Through their longstanding commitment to community engagement and service, Ashurst Perkins Coie understands that lasting change happens when organizations come together around a shared purpose. Their support helps create opportunities for men experiencing homelessness to find safety, stability, and a path toward permanent housing.

Thank you, Ashurst Perkins Coie, for being a valued Partner in Purpose and for helping light the way.

Twice a month, staff, clients, and volunteers head out into the Eastgate neighborhood together, making our way through the streets around PorchLight, picking up litter and debris along the way.

It’s a simple thing, but an important one. Eastgate isn’t just where our shelter is located. It’s our neighborhood, too. And being part of a community means helping take care of it.

The Green Team is one of the ways we do that, side by side.

Join us! We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 4:00–5:30 PM.

We love seeing a good partnership grow.

Praece has been PorchLight’s IT partner, helping us navigate the technology that keeps our organization connected and moving forward.

This year, that partnership is evolving.

For the first time, Praece is joining us as a sponsor of Light the Way: A Place at the Table.

Their team talks about taking the time to really know the organizations they serve. That has certainly been our experience, and we’re grateful that their support now extends beyond our technology and directly into our mission.

Welcome to the table, Praece. We’re glad you’re here.

We’re officially 30 days away!

On September 24, we’ll gather for Light the Way: A Place at the Table, our annual fundraising luncheon and one of our favorite opportunities to bring the PorchLight community together.

Alex Schrempf will take the stage as our MC. You’ll hear directly from PorchLight clients, learn more about the work happening every day, and see what is possible when a community comes together around a shared mission.

There is no cost to attend Light the Way. As our annual fundraising luncheon, guests will have an opportunity during the program to make a gift to support PorchLight and the men we serve.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, today is a great day to claim your seat.

We’ve saved a place for you.

URGENT NEED: Bath Towels

We’re running low on bath towels at PorchLight and could use our community’s help restocking the shelves.

Bath towels are an everyday essential at our shelter, and with showers available to the men we serve each day, we go through a lot of them.

You can help in two ways:

• Purchase bath towels directly from our Amazon Wish List and have them shipped straight to PorchLight.
• Donate new bath towels directly to the shelter.

Our In-Kind Donation page has everything you need, including the link to our Amazon Wish List and information about dropping off donations: https://ow.ly/U78g50ZAHa8

Thank you for helping us meet an immediate need.

We’re excited to welcome Alex Schrempf as the MC for this year’s Light the Way Luncheon: A Place at the Table.

Bellevue native. Former Bellevue Wolverine, German Jr. National team member, and UCLA Bruin basketball player. Coach. Basketball and community development professional. Relationship builder. And now, MC of PorchLight’s 2026 Light the Way Luncheon.

Alex has ties to PorchLight through volunteering and his previous work with our longtime partner Coldstream Wealth Management. Today, his work spans athlete development with the Asian University Basketball League and community-based basketball initiatives across the greater Seattle area

When we asked him to take the stage at our biggest gathering of the year, his answer was a quick “yes.”

“PorchLight is a cause I genuinely care about, and with my connection to Bellevue and the organization, this feels like a particularly meaningful opportunity to support the work.”

Join Alex and the PorchLight community on September 24 for Light the Way: A Place at the Table.

We’ve saved a place for you.

Stephanie was named PorchLight’s 2026 Volunteer of the Year in April, and for good reason.

Three days a week, she’s in our kitchen preparing breakfast and lunch for the men we serve.

Along the way, she has built wonderful relationships with the guys and is always looking for new ways to enrich their lives.

A former elementary school teacher, Stephanie recently brought another of her talents to PorchLight by starting a weekly art hour, giving the men a chance to create, relax, and express themselves.

She and her congregation at Eastshore Unitarian are also inviting our men to join their community craft nights.

From meals to art, Stephanie keeps finding new ways to show up.

That’s Mission in Motion.

This is Wes.

For years, he and his wife, Julia, along with their friends at Holy Family Catholic Church, have been showing up for PorchLight in one particularly delicious way.

Every month, they bring dinner for the men we serve, including homemade desserts that have earned quite a following.

That monthly meal is part of something bigger. In-kind donations help keep our shelter stocked with the food, clothing, hygiene items, and other everyday essentials our clients need. That means more of our resources can support the programs and services that help men move forward.

Want to be part of it? See what we currently need and learn more about in-kind giving:

Thank you, Wes, Julia, and everyone at Holy Family. We're grateful you keep showing up.
