August is finally here and this month is a great time to start work on cleaning up your garden. Here are a few tips to get your started. Feel free to add more in the comments.

1. Remove spent plants by pulling out dead or dying annuals, vegetables, and weeds.

2. Dispose of diseased plants. Don’t add them to your compost. Instead bag and throw them away.

3. Compost the rest. Healthy plant material can go into the compost bin.
