A few of our staff attended the Michigan Pet Alliance “Next Level” Conference last week, joining animal welfare professionals from across the industry for sessions and conversations on topics that are incredibly relevant to the work we do every day.

They returned with plenty of ideas, new perspectives and conversations to bring back to FMAR as we continue looking for ways to grow and make things even better for the animals, staff, volunteers and community we serve. ❤️

A huge thank you to Michigan Pet Alliance for creating such a valuable space for animal welfare professionals to learn, connect and remind ourselves that we’re definitely not in this alone.

And apparently, attending the conference wasn’t enough for for one of our staff — she had to WIN ALL THE THINGS. 😂🏆

We’ll be giving you a little preview of one of her awesome wins, so stay tuned! 👀

The weekend brought several Happy Tails for our kittens!

🍖 Sirloin went home! Anthony first came to meet him, and we love that he came back this weekend to make it official. 🥹

And it wasn’t just Sirloin celebrating! Stevie, Yang, Grey and Gordon also found their furever families! 🐱🐱🐱🐱

We’re so happy for these little ones and their new families. Here’s to a lifetime of love, cuddles and happy memories! 🥰🐾

Happy Tails, sweet kitties! ❤️

🐾 Louie is back with another Foster Friday check-in!

And while he’s absolutely loving life in his foster home, he has one little complaint… he’s had ZERO applications. 😭

Seriously, how?! This guy has been ROCKING it in foster and is ready for someone to give him a lifetime
commitment. 🐾❤️

🖤 Almost 2 years old
🐶 Good with other dogs
👧 Best with older kids
🥏 Frisbee fanatic
🏃‍♂️ Loves walks & runs
🛋️ Equally happy lounging & cuddling
🏠 Crate trained
💩 Potty trained

Louie can take a little time to warm up to new people and new situations. But he’s shown us that with a little patience, he’s willing to open up, try new things, and build trust with the people who give him the chance. ❤️

Meet Cotton Candy! ☁️🍭🐾

Cotton Candy is almost 5 months old, and he’s already been waiting 9 weeks for someone to give him a home. ❤️

He came to us with a litter of kittens who needed some extra time to learn that people could be trusted. Cotton Candy was especially shy, so he spent some time in a loving foster home getting plenty of one-on-one attention—and it made such a difference!

These days, this sweet boy has discovered that people aren’t so bad after all. In fact, he’s found one of his favorite places to be: snuggled up against your chest. 🥹 Once he trusts you, he’s happy to soak up all the cuddles you’ll give him.

He can still be a little shy when meeting new people or settling into a new place, so he’ll need someone who’s willing to give him a little time and let him come out of his shell at his own pace. But once he feels safe, his affectionate side really shines.

If you’re looking for a sweet kitten whose cuddles are worth earning, Cotton Candy is waiting to meet you. 🍭❤️
