Hollis - Bellaire - Queens Village - Bellerose Athletic Association Inc. Hollis - Bellaire - Queens Village - Bellerose-Athletic Association Inc. (HBQVB) is a state certified not-for-profit baseball and softball organization. HBQVB since its beginning has been a chartered member of the Little League Baseball but has since switched to the Babe Ruth League. HBQVB is located in the central-eastern

Queens area and easily accessible from major NYC highways. In addition to the 9 playing fields (know as the PADAVAN-PRELLER Complex), there is a full parking lot, an equipment room, batting cages, restrooms, and a concession stand. Today, HBQVB services players and children from all over the Metro New York area. The league was founded in 1954 and started from a single field that was initially sponsored by the Daily News cartoonist and the leagues first president, Bill Gallo and built by league parents and local residents. It was through Fred Preller, the local state assemblyman and Mat Troy the local City Councilman at the time that the property that we have today was obtained. With the first field being built in 1966 and the continuing of building fields throughout the years, we now have 9 tailored ball fields and dugouts which cover 14 acres, and all were constructed by volunteers. Through the years the league membership was able to purchase the land form NYS for the exclusive use of youth programs. Its programs begin with five-year-olds playing T-Ball and a pitching machine Pee-Wee division for six and seven-year-olds. The programs continue with the better recoginized little league divisions, Minor, Major, Pony and Senior divisions. The older boys and girls play on full-scale baseball/softball diamonds. All divisions are open to children of all skills and experience levels. Programs for seventeen and eighteen-year-olds are offered on a limited basis as well as competitive travel and tournament teams in many age brackets.

***Due to an event at the school the 8yr-17yr old HBQVB winter Clinics will be pushed back to a 6pm start this Saturday January 25th, 2014***

Goal setting is essential for an athlete. Set three goals tonight you plan to have successfully completed over the next 6 months. Remember to consider academics, athletics and health when setting these goals. Stay on top of them and achieve them while beginning your new list of goals. If you need any assistance along the way feel free to ask. Good Luck!
