bruary 24th, 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine, killing thousands of innocent lives and leaving millions without a place they call home. Since the invasion began, more than seven million refugees have fled Ukraine, flooding their neighboring countries Poland, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, Slovakia, and Belarus with nothing but a bag and the clothes on their backs. Although the refugees were accepted with open arms, they were also accepted into countries that do not have much to offer besides shelter and rationed food; countries that are some of Europe’s poorest countries. Always Near is a non profit organization, whose mere focus is to raise funding to help organizations that are providing food, shelter, moral and spiritual support for not only the refugees that are fleeing Ukraine, but also others who are in need around the world.
