2/3/1934- 6/27/2020

"Rita will be remembered for her contagious laugh and remarkable sense of humor. She was an Army veteran and was very proud of her service during the Korean War. She loved to dance more than anything else in this world. She started jitterbugging in the 1950s at Lincoln Park and continued to dance until her last days. She lived life to the fullest and was cherished by all who knew her. She graduated from Greater New Bedford Vocational High School in 1952. She worked for many years as a seamstress and ended her career at Aetna where she made many lifelong friends."

Today we honor the life of Carol Geretschlaeger "Onnie" whose heavenly birthday is today.
6/26/1939 - 5/4/2020

"My Mama’s Name is Carol Geretschlaeger. Her closest family called her Tootie and all the grandbabies called her Onnie. She was so incredibly talented! In all her years, she was an incredible figure skater, loved to china paint and ball room dance and play in her gardens for fun. She made a living as a professional cosmetologist and was an award winning photographer. Our Mama/Grandma/Sister/Aunt/Cousin and Best Friend was energetic, passionate, giving, funny and so much more. Our mama was a woman of faith, strength and courage. She could do absolutely anything and would be amazing at it! Our Mama was our Everything. She was the glue to our family and will always be that person we hold dearest in our hearts.
Born June 26th 1939- and left this world May 4th 2020." - Ginger Kelly Gese

"Joe joined the US Air Force, was assigned to Eglin Air Force Base and spent the majority of his service at Shaw Air Force Base. He worked as a hydraulic specialist and aircraft mechanic. He was assigned to Homestead, FL during the Cuban Missile Crisis where he oversaw the maintenance of aircraft on base.
After his service was completed, he was discharged with full honors, the final rank of Technical Sergeant and lived the remainder of his life as a private citizen. Throughout his life, Joe was an active campaign member and advisor to several prominent Alabama politicians, including George Wallace and Fob James, and remained deeply connected to local and national politics. Joe was also a very active member of the Alabama Jaycees.
Joe was a lover of aviation, golf, Alabama football, and card-playing. Joe has been a steadfast and active member of the Tuscaloosa Moose Lodge fraternal organization since 2005. Joe was an extremely generous person who loved everybody he met; he would treat anybody as if he knew them an entire lifetime and would give the shirt off of his back to a stranger if it was needed."

6/19/1953 - 5/22/2020
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Miguel's family and friends today.
Please feel free to share a treasured memory to honor his life and legacy. 💛

"Miguel was a loving husband, father and grandpa. Miguel was a giving person with a big heart and was always helping in any way he could. Anyone who had the opportunity to meet him loved him. He was the one all his children would go to when they needed a handy man, mechanic or just advice on life. Miguel was a hard worker. He retired in 2017 from Utah Pacific Bridge and Steal.
Miguel loved going fishing every chance he had. His favorite places to fish was Strawberry Lake and Deer Creek. He had his favorite spots to fish everywhere he went. He loved to go fishing with his children, grandkids, son in laws and friends. Every time he came home with A fish he would have his loving wife prepare it just the way he liked it., extra crispy!
His other passion was his garden that he would grow yearly. He would spend countless hours plowing, watering, and taking care of his plants. He loved to plant tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, and a variety of peppers. He also had several varieties of fruit trees: apple, peach, cherry, Because of his generous nature, he would always share his fruits and vegetables with anyone he could give them to. Some of his other favorite hobbies included relaxing in his hammock, watching soccer and boxing, and bull riding on the weekends! He loved being surrounded by his family and especially his grandkids. He loved traveling to El Salvador and spending time with his family there as well. He loved going to the beach and rodeos with his uncle and nephew."
