💙 Thank You, Community 💙

As Foster Care Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to say thank you.

Thank you to the families caring for children every day.
Thank you to those who donate, volunteer, and share.
Thank you for helping us serve in practical, meaningful ways.

Together, we are making a difference—one child, one family, one act of kindness at a time. 💙

💙 What is Kinship Care?

We often get this question, and it’s an important one.

Kinship care is when a child is raised by a relative or someone close to their family—like a grandparent, aunt, uncle, older sibling, or even a family friend—when their parents are unable to care for them.

These caregivers step in to provide stability, safety, and love during a difficult season. Many times, they didn’t plan for this role, but they say “yes” because a child they love needs them.

Kinship care is actually the most common form of foster care in the United States.

At Raising Arrows, we support both foster and kinship families by helping meet practical needs like clothing, beds, diapers, and other essentials—because no caregiver should have to do this alone.

If you’ve heard the term but weren’t sure what it meant, we hope this helps 💙

Behind every foster placement is a child learning what “home” feels like again.

Behind every kinship placement is a family saying, “We’ve got you.”

This May, we honor the strength it takes to love through uncertainty.

Raising Arrows is here to help lighten the load by providing material needs for foster and kinship families in our area.

If you’re a caregiver, you are not alone. 💙

Union County Human Services held a donation drive for Raising Arrows in the month of April in honor of Child Abuse Awareness month. They coordinated with the Union County Juvenile/Probate court and the CASA Program of Delaware and Union County to have drop off locations and were able to gather SO MANY things that we needed. We are so thankful for organizations that believe in and support us. Thank you!
