Hi! If you're reading this you must be wondering what Brie's Blessing is all about. Well, a few years ago I was always in the hospital around the holidays. Depression, PTSD got the better of me. Every year. Year after year. Finally I came to terms with the holidays. I needed to find something positive to focus on. That's when I started making Christmas cards for people in nursing homes. Soon I started putting an ornament in each one.
This year I'm happy to say Brie's Blessing has gotten big enough to share with y'all. Aside to this is helping a few families with a brand new tree and decorations for it. If you know of a family that has no tree or means to get one, please dm me and I'll see if we can help with that.
This next year my hope is to make Brie's Blessing a permanent non profit or LLC. I do depend on Christmas card donations and also flat ornaments for the cards. If you have any you're parting with I would gladly take them off your hands! My goals are (1) to help others that have holiday issues know that.....YOU ARE NOT ALONE! (2) I strive to remember the forgotten ones! To send something to someone who may not get anything for Christmas. I can do this one thing....for them! And that is what Brie's Blessing is all about. Im talking about the blessing I receive , having the honor to do this for another.
So, I write John 3:16, a personal message, and end with a " God Bless You" in every card. Add the ornaments and do not seal the envelopes since sometimes that can be challenging to arthritic hands. This year Im pleased to report there are 1,500 cards ready to go! In the next few days I will be calling nursing homes to see if they want to participate. Find out how many patients they have and arrange a meeting time. This is also the first year I've published or shared anything about how and why I do this. Im praying it will be received well.
In closing, I'd like to send a big THANK YOU to a few people:
Fire Box on Main: Chef Todd and Julie Hyde
Skyler Osbourne
Candrace Jones
Judy Wilcox
Without their help Brie's Blessing wouldn'tve reached this goal. I will be writing on here from time to time and update how many nursing homes and families that we had the pleasure of helping. Names, of course, will not be released. Y'all have a blessed Christmas. I know I will!
God Bless You!
Sincerely,
Brie's Blessing
