We are offering a Hunter's Safety Course at the Belle Plaine Community Center on Feb. 18-19. There are only 25 openings. You must be 11 years of age to attend. Please call City Hall to reserve your spot. We will need name, DOB and a phone number. There is no cost and lunch will be provided on Saturday.

Santa makes his appearance in Belle Plaine this season on Dec 3.

Join us at the Belle Plaine Community Center on Saturday, December 3rd starting at 5 pm. Santa and his elves will arrive for photos from 5–8 pm.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at 6:30 pm. The Belle Plaine student band and vocals will provide music and song.

Chicken noodle soup dinner for $8 from 5:30–8 pm. If you want to purchase quarts, the deadline is Monday, November 28th. $8 a quart or $15 for a half gallon. Message the Belle Plaine Historical Museum or call them at (620) 488-5488 and leave a message with your name, phone #, and order.

Don't forget to go downtown! Belle Plaine Public Library • Kansas will have crafts and cookies, and Belle Plaine Historical Museum will be open with treats and history.

The lights at the Community Center and Downtown were installed by SJC Lights, LLC and paid for through the Belle Plaine Chamber, and through donations from the City of Belle Plaine.

The Belle Plaine Hunter Education Class had a great weekend. The class, led by Clifford Clark, consisted of 5 female and 10 male students. Students enjoyed fresh hot donuts and coffee for breakfast, and BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, chips and cold beverages for lunch. For an afternoon snack, and a needed break from studying, students enjoyed an assortment of cookies. After a day and a half of studying and experiencing hands on learnings, all students took their final exam. All 15 students passed and were excited to receive their hunter education card and patch.
Before students were released with their newly gained hunter education card and patch, they were informed of a surprise. The South Central Whitetails Unlimited Chapter out of Mayfield, KS donated a lifetime Kansas Hunting license to a random student of the class. Hayden M. Smith was the lucky winner of the lifetime license. Congratulations to Hayden and Happy Hunting!
