Heads up travelers! Some major construction this weekend!

🚧 Heads up Shakopee commuters, weekend Closure Alert at Hwy 169 in Jordan 🚧

If you're traveling through Jordan this weekend, plan ahead!

📅 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 – 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10
🚫 Northbound Hwy 169 will be CLOSED between Delaware Ave./County Road 59 and Creek Lane.

Please follow the signed detour, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling near the work zone.

Firework safety is of utmost concern this time of year. One bit of safety information that is often overlooked is the proper disposal of fireworks once the fun is over! Here are a few quick tips immediately following:

1. Soak them in water- overnight preferred
2. While wet, double bag them after soaking and place in a curbside garbage
3. If you don’t have the ability to get them soaking, do not immediately place in the trash- allow them to stay in an open area (near a curb or lawn).

Recently, The Belle Plaine Fire Department was afforded the opportunity again this year to help out the Oak Crest 4th Grade tournament with its bean bag boards! Students had a great time competing and enjoying the outdoors.

Right in our own backyard. Our very own BPFD made medical history recently.

Thank goodness for our amazing first responders and the medical team that took swift action that day.
We are so glad Shannon is back home with her family!
