Project RoboReach had another incredible event at Montgomery Library! We loved seeing all the new faces and the energy was contagious. Every kid was eager to learn and had their hand up with questions. Their curiosity was off the charts, and they weren’t shy about asking everything they wanted to know. What really stood out was watching the kids help each other out. They’d figure something out and immediately turn to their neighbor to show them how it worked. That kind of peer learning at such a young age is special. They tackled both challenges like pros and made it clear they love coming back to the library! Thanks Montgomery Library for hosting us again.

Project RoboReach was at Montgomery Library with grades K-2, and it was wonderful! The kids started by drawing their own robots. Letting their creativity shine before diving into the coding experience. We guided them through programming their first challenge: the high 5! Watching them focus intently as they worked through the code, seeing the satisfaction on their faces when the robot executed their program perfectly and that’s what it’s all about. The hands-on experience of bringing their ideas to life through robotics is something they’ll remember. Thanks again to the Montgomery Library for having us!

This Sunday was our third session at the Willows Swim Club and what an amazing turnout! Our returning kids tackled a new challenge: programming their robot to stay within a box using the color sensor. They crushed it! Every time something didn’t work, they quickly tried another approach. We then challenged them with line follower coding, and their critical thinking and problem-solving skills really shone through as they worked through the tougher code. So proud of how far these kids came in just three weeks! Thanks to the Willows Swim Club for inviting us!

This Sunday was our second session at the Willows Swim Club, and the growth we witnessed was amazing! We had a wonderful mix of returning and new faces, and the energy in the room was electric from start to finish. Our returning students were thrilled to take on a new challenge. This time using the color sensor to extract all the pieces from the windmill. What really stood out was how these returning kids stepped up to help teach the newcomers about how the robots work. Watching them retain so much from our first session and confidently guide the new kids through their learning was truly inspiring. Both groups worked together beautifully, problem-solved collaboratively, and had an amazing time. We’re so excited to come back next week with even more challenges for these incredible kids!

When we launched RoboReach, our goal was simple: inspire younger students to explore robotics through hands-on STEM experiences and show them that the skills they build (creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, communication) extend far beyond technology.

We’re proud to share that since then, we’ve brought that mission to life for 90+ elementary school students across libraries, Cub Scout groups, and more; with sessions designed around LEGO Spike Prime, giving kids a real, engaging introduction to robotics.

This is just the beginning. We’re excited to keep growing, reaching more students, partnering with more organizations, and expanding what’s possible.

Hi everyone! Project RoboReach visited Cub Scouts Pack 501 in East Brunswick with around 30 scouts ages 3-5. From the moment we started, they were full of questions about how robots work and loved watching our demonstration come to life. When we split into groups for hands-on coding, their excitement was infectious. They jumped right in and weren’t afraid to ask questions as they programmed on their own. Watching them learn through trial and error was a joy, and they soaked up every lesson! Another fantastic session with an incredibly engaged group. Project RoboReach’s robotics journey keeps growing!

Hi everyone! Project RoboReach visited the Montgomery Library for a hands-on robotics session with grades 4–6 students! We introduced students to sensors, gear connections, and how motors can be manipulated to power different attachments and mechanisms. After watching live robot demonstrations, they put their knowledge into action through two engineering challenges. First, they used a sensor and arm attachment to complete a task, experimenting with different approaches to find a solution. Then, they programmed a robot to follow a path using a color sensor, relying on trial and error to find the right measurements. It was incredible to watch them apply lessons from the first challenge to the second, showcasing their creativity, perseverance, and problem-solving skills every step of the way.

Hi everyone! Project RoboReach visited the Montgomery Library for a hands-on session with K-3 students! We kicked things off with a drawing activity where the kids shared what they already knew about robots and designed their own robot to solve a problem of their choice. Their creativity was incredible! Next, they watched a live robot demonstration to see how robotics actually works. After watching it run once, we walked through the code together and challenged them to figure out what each block did. Then came the real fun: we gave them a challenge to make the robot follow a path using color sensors, and they had to use trial and error to find the right measurements. The best part was watching them problem-solve through obstacles like the robot getting stuck on the paper. They loved figuring out creative workarounds! Project RoboReach continues to spark curiosity and build problem-solving skills in future engineers!

Hi everyone! Project RoboReach visited Cub Scouts Pack 33 in Milltown with 30 scouts split into two age groups! Our K-3 group drew robots they imagined could solve real-world problems, then watched SPIKE Prime demonstrations to see robotics in action. The 4-6 group dove deeper. After learning how robots work through live demos, they competed in an exciting coding challenge! Split into two teams, they programmed robots using color and distance sensors to complete missions. Watching them troubleshoot through trial and error was amazing, and their questions about FLL afterward showed just how inspired they were! Project RoboReach continues to spark curiosity in future roboticists.

Hi everyone! We continued Project RoboReach at Cub Scouts Pack 98 in South Brunswick with 25-30 excited scouts! As one of 5 STEM stations at their meeting, we rotated groups every 15 minutes through hands-on robotics fun. Scouts explored what they already knew about robots, experimented with sensors and motors to see how they work, and watched live coding demonstrations. The highlight? Showing them FLL mission videos. Their excitement about competitive robotics was contagious! Another amazing step in our robotics journey.
