Leadership isn't for the faint hearted and it's moved on from having a fixed mindset set and having to know all answers.

Leadership is about having a growth mindset but most importantly, applying lessons learnt all throughout, self reflect to avoid the same pitfalls.

It's ok to make the wrong decision, but, what you do after and do next is is fundamental to the success of your leadership and how you are perceived as a leader going forward.

Though the consequences are high, hence you see several leaders throw their team members under the bus and become the sacrificed lamb. So don't get me wrong, they could still get rid of you in just a heart beat if the consequences are detrimental to the company or function. However always aim perform your leadership role to the high standard that it deserves and expected.

Suggestion: Ensure that you agree to an excellent benefits and exit package before signing up for the leadership role. It will take you a while to find a role at that level so, remember to think about, what if it goes wrong?
