I hope all those little raptors have been in training for the 2nd Annual Raptor Roundup! Come see us from 10 am to 1 pm for some fun contests and prizes. If you come to the museum in dinosaur costume you get in free!

Also don't forget to see our booth at the Black Hills Roundup!

Cheers!

Four “Unearth a Story” dinosaur programs in 3 days. A lot of miles, smiles, and dinosaur fossils. Although, I have given away almost all of my dinosaur “bobs” (broken old bones). They are now in the hands of little dinosaur enthusiasts 😊🦴🦖🦴.

I had a great time with both programs yesterday. I love seeing kids and adults curious about dinosaurs and participating in the summer reading program “Enearth a Story”. More programs to come.

A huge shout-out to all our sponsors who make the summer reading program a success!

In addition to the sponsors pictured, we also want to thank the Sturgis Community Center for donating day passes as prizes, and First Presbyterian Church of Sturgis for their generous support.

Red Rocks Park near Morrison sits within sandstone containing marine fossils from the Cretaceous inland sea that covered the region 70 million years ago.

Dinosaur tracks have been found in the park’s sandstone formations. The Trading Post Trail is free and open year-round.

Those who hike it in the early morning before the amphitheatre opens for events describe it as the finest free geological hiking experience within 30 minutes of downtown Denver.
