Tulane University Biodiversity Research Institute The Tulane University Biodiversity Research Institute (TUBRI) is a private, non-profit zoological research center affiliated with Tulane University.

TUBRI is a nonprofit zoological research center affiliated with Tulane University. We house the world's largest collection of post-larval fishes – more than 7 million specimens. Founded in 1968, we historically functioned as a natural history museum. Now, we specialize in biodiversity discovery and biodiversity informatics research. Our most famous resident is a pocket shark, one of only two every found in the world.

Congratulations to our own Yasin Bakış, who received the Tulane School of Science and Engineering's mid-career award for staff excellence in a ceremony earlier this month. In his role as TUBRI's Senior Manager of Biodiversity Informatics, Yasin leads the development of diverse data systems such as FishAIR, FishNet 2 and HydroClim that support large-scale research in ecology, evolution, and environmental science.
