Good morning everyone. It has been a while since we have posted here. We have officialy started our preparations for this year's Plaquemines Christmas Fun Run/Walk, Parade and Festival which will take place on Saturday November 28, 2026 at the Plaquemines Parish Government Complex. We are in need of sponsors for the Christmas Lights in the Historic Oak trees on the Government Complex. We traditionally raise funds for this event with our annual Barbecue Throwdown and Car Show. Unfortunately we have to cancel that event this year due to a scheduling conflict with another event held the same day in our parish. We started the Oak Tree Christmas Light sponsorship program last year. The Christmas light display is funded 100% by our non-profit. We have made a significant investment in the Christmas light display thus far with the purchase of all the lights totaling over $30,000. We must also pay a lighting company to put up and take down all the lights in the trees each year which is very costly. For this reason, it is important for us to continue the tradition of the Christmas light display, we must have enough sponsorships to fund it. If sponsorships and funding allows, we want to expand the Christmas light display with additional lighting and themed displays. The historic Oak Tree lighting sponsorship is $2,500 per tree per year. With your sponsorship, we will display a sign in front of the tree you sponsored with your company name or family name which will be displayed all year long to show everyone your support. We have a sponsorship form available upon request. We want to thank our current sponsors for their support. We have attached pictures of the signs for our current sponsors.
