Good morning everyone. As many of you know, we host our annual Plaquemines Barbecue Throwdown and Car Show each October. Unfortunately we have to cancel this year's event that we had scheduled. The date we had booked conflicts with a fundraising event for one of our Parish Leaders and we are unable to move the event to another date.

The Plaquemines Barbecue Throwdown and Car Show is our primary fundraiser to support our Christmas Light display and Christmas Festival. We are in the process of reaching out to our event sponsors that usually support the cook-off in an attempt to gain their sponsorship directly for the Christmas light display and Christmas Festival. We definitely need all donations possible so we can continue this Great Holiday tradition.

Plaquemines Community Development Group provides 100% of the funding for the Christmas light display, Christmas Fun Run/Walk, Parade and Festival. We also provide all of this free of charge for our community to enjoy the holiday festivities.

The Plaquemines Barbecue Throwdown and Car Show will resume in October 2027.

If you are interested in donating to our cause or sponsoring the Christmas lights on one the historic oak trees in our display, please message us, email us at [email protected] or contact me at 504-329-2124 directly. Everyone's help is greatly appreciated.
