Mindset, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization which works with youth, ages 8 - 18, to help them explore who they are. Volunteer mentors offer encouragement and help them think about who they are and what they would like to be. Many youth have never been coached about the skills they need to succeed in life. Likewise, their inherent abilities, talents and skills have never been acknowledged by their pe
ers or adults. In 2013, youth in the program took part in a wide variety of social events: and learning experiences, such as: Valentine's Ball, Mardi Gras, Superbowl Rally, Art Car Parade, water parks, Honoring Mothers, Spring Festival, Graduations, Honoring Fathers, Talent Showcase Recitals, Renaissance Festival, Labor Day Picnic, Fall Festival, Disney Field Trip, Boat Parade, ice skating, and Holiday Party. Also, numerous learning experiences were organized for them to take part in: college visits, tax workshops, money management training, Career Day, Black History Month, rodeo agriculture, camping, etiquette class, book reviews, Earth Day, Miracle Farm, intern to work day, gardening, field trips, Sister City research, genealogy, Interns to America, Children's Museum, state parks, US history, Back to School Drive, aviation, boat tour and cruise, Vote Drive, movie reviews, Boss Day, dance class, home tours, clean energy, election process review, and study group tutoring.
