The 6th Annual Taylor County Monster Hunt

Monsters are stirring in Taylor County,
Come hunt for the creatures, there's fun to be found!
The Grafton Monster is lurking about,
And Apple Picker is picking, no doubt.

Veggie Man's hiding where the green things grow,
While Bigfoot tiptoes, sneaky and slow.
Sightings are popping up all over town,
So keep your eyes peeled and look up and down!

Find fifteen monsters and snap photos to prove it,
Earn a free shirt and pins, you can do it!
Clues go live October twenty one,

✨ October Craft Night: Tree Fairies! 🧚‍♀️✨

Join us for a cozy evening of crafting! We’ll be making enchanting handmade tree fairies together.

🦁🐯 Lions & Tigers & Babies, Oh My! 🐘🐻

The Barbour County Family Support Center invites local families to our upcoming Community Baby Shower!

This event is open to Barbour County residents who are currently pregnant or have an infant up to 12 months old. Join us for a fun, relaxing evening designed to connect you with community resources, games, and support!

📅 When: Wednesday, November 18, 2026 | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

ℹ️ A Quick Note for Guests:

Support Person: Each mom/expecting mom is welcome to bring one adult support person (such as the father of the child, a relative, or a friend) or feel free to come on your own!

Little Ones: To ensure parents get a relaxed, focused break to connect with resources, and due to venue space and food limitations, we kindly ask that older children stay home for the evening (infants 12 months and under are, of course, welcome with you!).

⚠️ Event Update / Postponement Notice ⚠️

We hate to do this, but due to low registration numbers for our upcoming IEP training this week, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the event. We want to ensure we have a great group size so everyone can get the most out of the discussion, networking, and—of course—enjoy the food together!

Thank you so much to the individual who did sign up—we see you and appreciate your dedication!

UPDATE: ALL NEEDS HAVE BEEN FILLED AT THIS TIME THANK YOU EVERYONE!

COMMUNITY IN NEED: HELP US FURNISH AN APARTMENT & SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILIES 🏠💙

We have a young adult in our community transitioning out of foster care and into their very first apartment! We want to help them set up a safe, comfortable home as they takes this huge next step toward independence.

Currently Needed for First Apartment:

Couch & Living Room Furniture (chairs, end tables, TV stand)

Bed Frame & Mattress (clean, gently used condition)

Kitchen Essentials (dishes, cookware, silverware, cups, small appliances)

Household Basics (towels, lamps, trash cans, cleaning supplies)

UPDATE - SECOND FAMILY IN NEED:
We are also looking for a clean, safe crib (with or without a mattress) for another local family in need.

HOW TO DONATE:

Pick-up/Delivery: If you have items to donate and can deliver them in Philippi, that is greatly appreciated! If you need help getting items transported, let us know and we will help make pickup arrangements.
