Well, once again, the Winter months are in the rearview mirror and hope springs eternal for a summer of memories (and nice weather!) on the shores of Long Pond! The docks are officially IN after a longer than usual delay thanks to the high water! And speaking of that, please note the second photo below of the corner piece…the circled area in the background is where another piece that looks just like this should be but has disappeared (most likely carried off by the waters!). If you know of its location, please contact Diane at Day's Store (207.495.2205) and report its whereabouts so it can be reclaimed!

As the ice is out and nature emerges from its winter slumber, Ryan and the team at Maine Dock & Lift Services has already been hard at work returning the Long Pond Community Docks Project docks to their rightful place in the water behind Day's Store! Watch this space for news on how we can continue to support this community treasure in the weeks and months to come! (FYI - the roll-ins are on the way in too…just waiting for extension legs to be added!)

What a weekend so far! Double fireworks on Long Pond, beautiful weather, and brand new Community docks to tie up to and walk into town! Are you enjoying the new docks? Wondering how YOU can contribute to the maintenance of our Community docks? It’s easy — visit our website (https://jeffreybaron.godaddysites.com/fundraising-status -2bf0-487d-9ed0-0f75cc84a24a) and ask for contribution instructions.

$86,000! That was the goal and we did it! So, as more money continues to come in, what's happening with that? Well, the docks won't maintain themselves so everything above the goal is being held on account to handle maintenance of the new dock system as long as it lasts.

One week in and the success of our project continues to be recognized! We just got a chance to see this fabulous article (https://www.centralmaine.com/2022/07/01/leave-the-car-at-home-new-long-pond-docks-help-make-boats-the-preferred-means-of-travel/) just hitting the “presses” now. As a reminder, the docks are for temporary use only and overnight docking is not permitted!

Jeff Baron lead a campaign to raise $86,000 so that docks could be installed behind Day's Store in Belgrade, just in time for the rush of people heading to the Belgrade Lakes for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
