Belfry Area Youth Soccer — Season Starts Next Weekend!

The Belfry Area Youth Soccer Club season gets underway next weekend!

⚽ U10, U12 & U14 games begin Saturday, September 5.

We know Labor Day weekend isn’t the ideal weekend to start the season. However, because Belfry has two teams in several age groups, many of our matchups are already doubleheaders. There simply wasn’t a good way to make up an entire weekend later without asking some teams to play as many as four games in one day.

🍂 FALL BREAK: Belfry will have a BYE on Saturday, October 3, so families who want to make plans for fall break can do so without worrying about soccer games that weekend.

🎃 HALLOWEEN — OCTOBER 31: We will travel to Letcher County that Saturday. Letcher County has assured us that our games will be scheduled early in the day so our families will have plenty of time to get back home for trick-or-treating and Halloween activities that evening.

Please watch for information from your coaches regarding specific game times and locations.

⚽ YOUTH REC SOCCER – MIDDLE SCHOOL PLAYERS NEEDED! ⚽

Our youth recreational soccer league still has room for about 9 more middle school-age players! All of our other age divisions are currently full, but we would like to extend this opportunity to help fill the two middle school-age teams we have this fall.

This is a great opportunity for students to play, develop their skills, and prepare for the next BELFRY Middle School soccer season, which begins in February.

Who can join?
• 7th and 8th grade students
• 5th and 6th grade students who are interested in playing up with the older age group

📅 Season: Begins the weekend of September 5 and ends by Halloween
⚽ Practices: Twice each week
🏴‍☠️ Extra BELFRY Development Practice: BELFRY students will also have an additional practice opportunity with the middle school coaches at the high school soccer field. This extra day will focus on developing skills and preparing players for the upcoming middle school season.

One of our own, thank you Donna!

Longtime local soccer coach and referee Donna Smith was recently honored at the National Military Monument in recognition of her years of service to our country.

Donna has spent countless years serving not only our nation, but also the young people of our community through the game of soccer. Her dedication, leadership, and willingness to give her time have made a lasting impact on generations of local athletes.

Thank you, Donna, for your service to our country and for everything you have done for the youth of our community.

We will be set up at the field Wednesday for a round of in person registration for anyone interested!

If anyone has any old but decent soccer cleats, shin guards or soccer balls we will be taking donations and keeping them in the side shed by the concessions. For any kids that may need them. Thank you all in advance.
