For example
Maine ENA President Kelly Collins loves teaching Stop the Bleed to teens and helping Girl Scouts and Scouts BSA members build their very first basic first aid kits. Watching young people gain confidence and life-saving skills is one of her favorite ways to give back to the community.

Some road trips are worth every mile!

Recently, Maine ENA Immediate Past President Tonya Brown packed up the candy and headed east on a long drive to beautiful Washington County, where she stopped by the incredible Emergency Department at Calais Community Hospital to surprise the staff with a few treats and a big thank you.

Serving the easternmost community in the United States, Calais Community Hospital is a vital lifeline for Washington County. Their Emergency Department cares for local residents, visitors, and cross-border patients, providing expert emergency care, lifesaving stabilization, and seamless coordination with EMS and receiving facilities when patients need a higher level of care.

Rural emergency nursing isn't easy. It requires critical thinking, teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to do a lot with limited resources. The team at Calais Community Hospital does all of that—and they do it with compassion and a smile.

Maine ENA is incredibly grateful for the nurses, providers, technicians, EMS partners, and support staff who keep emergency care strong in Downeast Maine. Thank you for everything you do for your patients, your community, and our profession. ❤️

Good Morning Maine Nurses!

Here are some reasons Every ER Nurse Should Join ENA... * ( According to Science (and a little sarcasm 😉) please add to this list!

Because Google is not an evidence-based resource.

Because "I've been doing it this way for 20 years" isn't a clinical guideline.

Because coffee and trauma bonding only get you so far.

Because one day you'll realize the new grad is looking at you for answers.

Because nobody should have to figure out pediatric emergencies, disaster response, workplace violence, or the latest trauma care alone.

Because networking is easier than reinventing the wheel at 3 a.m.

Because advocating for emergency nurses means someone is fighting for you, your patients, and your profession.

The truth? Emergency nursing changes constantly and ENA keeps up with it.

ENA provides evidence-based education, national practice resources, certification support, leadership development, advocacy, and a community of nurses who truly understand what it's like when every shift feels like organized chaos.

We laugh together. We learn together. We advocate together. And when emergency nursing needs a voice, ENA is at the table.

TNCC is on the road! 🚑

Today, Maine ENA Immediate Past President Tonya Brown is at Cary Medical Center teaching the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), helping prepare emergency nurses across Maine to provide exceptional trauma care.

TNCC is the gold standard for trauma nursing education. It equips emergency nurses with the knowledge, critical thinking, and hands-on skills needed to rapidly assess, prioritize, and care for injured patients during their most critical moments. From rural critical access hospitals to larger trauma centers, these skills save lives.

We are incredibly grateful to educators like Tonya who travel across our state, sharing their expertise and strengthening Maine's emergency nursing workforce. Every class taught means more confident nurses, stronger teams, and better outcomes for our patients.

Thank you, Tonya, for your dedication to emergency nursing education and for investing in the future of trauma care across Maine!

🍬🚑 Maine ENA on the Move!

Recently, Maine ENA Immediate Past President Tonya Brown and Board Member Cheryl Quint stopped by the Emergency Department at Houlton Regional Hospital to share some candy, smiles, and heartfelt appreciation with the incredible ED team.

Houlton Regional Hospital serves as a vital healthcare resource for Aroostook County and the surrounding border communities. As a rural emergency department, the team provides expert emergency care, rapid stabilization, and compassionate treatment close to home for the patients and families who depend on them every day.

Rural emergency nurses wear many hats, and the staff at Houlton Regional Hospital exemplify the teamwork, resilience, and dedication that make emergency nursing so special. Whether caring for a minor injury, a critically ill patient, or coordinating transfer to a higher level of care, they are always ready to answer the call.

Maine ENA extends our sincere gratitude to the nurses, providers, technicians, EMS partners, and support staff who make a difference every day. Thank you for your commitment to your patients, your community, and the profession of emergency nursing.
