HAPPY EMERGENCY NURSES WEEK 2026!
To the incredible Emergency Nurses of Maine — this week, we celebrate YOU!
From our busiest emergency departments to our smallest rural hospitals, from the bedside to the trauma bay, from triage to the moments when a patient or family simply needs someone to hold their hand — you are the heart of emergency nursing.
You show up when others are experiencing their very worst moments. You bring knowledge, skill, courage, compassion, and sometimes a little humor to get through the hardest shifts.
You advocate for patients who cannot advocate for themselves. You comfort families, save lives, mentor new nurses, and stand beside your colleagues when the weight of the work becomes heavy.
We also want to give special recognition to our forensic nurses, whose extraordinary work provides compassionate, trauma-informed care to some of our most vulnerable patients. You are advocates, protectors, educators, and a voice for those whose stories deserve to be heard. Your work matters, and we see you.
Emergency nursing is not always easy. There are long shifts, difficult decisions, heartbreaking losses, and challenges that test even the strongest among us. But there is also laughter, hope, healing, friendship, and the incredible privilege of making a difference in someone's life.
As your Maine ENA Board of Directors, we are incredibly proud to serve the emergency nurses of this great state. From Kittery to Fort Kent and everywhere in between, we remain committed to advocating for you, supporting your professional growth, advancing education, and making sure the voices of Maine's emergency nurses are heard.
We are proud of the work you do, the profession we share, and the community we continue to build together.
