Hello World! Please join us at our next road show stop at the Isleta Resort and Casino located at 11000 Broadway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87105. We will display a 38ft HO scale dog bone layout for one day only, starting Sat night 4/18/2026 from 5pm until 8pm supporting El Ranchito de los Niños children’s home in Los Lunas, NM.

El Ranchito de los Niños is a local non-profit dedicated to keeping sibling groups together who might otherwise be separated in foster care. For more information, check out

Maurine McMillan’s celebration of life is tomorrow, February 1st, 2026, at the Belen Harvey House from noon until 3pm. Please stop by and pay your respects. We really miss our friend Maurine, the "Friendly Warden".

Maurine was instrumental in the creation of both the Belen Harvey House Museum and the Southwest Model Railroad Museum (SWMRM). She was there and cut the ribbon during the initial opening of SWMRM. We were so lucky to celebrate our 30th anniversary and her 98th birthday in Sept 2025.

It tickled me so much seeing her eyes light up as she watched the model trains and vehicles go by. She was such a humble person and will be deeply missed. Each of us can learn from the generous life which she lived.

The Rails Along the Rio Grande Train show is this weekend. Vendors from across the nation have all kinds of items for sale. SWMRM have four tables of HO items for sale.

The "Rails Along the Rio Grande" train show will take place on November 23-24, 2025, at the Sid Cutter Pilot's Pavilion in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Come one, come all! The SWMRM celebrates our 30th anniversary as an organization today, Friday the 13th from 9am to 5pm. Refreshments available and free hot dogs from 11am until they are gone. We will have our HO exhibit operating and a first time operational glimpse of our JB Reber N scale railroad which depicts scenes from ABO Canyon. The M.190 Doodle Bug will be open. Free door prizes on the hour. Help us raise money for the M.190 restoration by purchasing items from our vendor Ohana Zia (Shaved Ice, Lemonade, Hot Chocolate, coffee, and other items). anniversary Open House. Sept 13, 2025 from 9 to 5pm, FREE of Charge!

Hello World! SWMRM is celebrating 30 years as an organization in Valencia County on September 13th. The event will be held at SWMRM located at 118 S. Second St in Belen, NM. Extended hours from 9am to 5pm. We have a guest speaker, friend John Taylor scheduled at 10am and 2pm. Please stop by for a fun filled day!
