Please consider supporting the conservation and restoration of a Belen treasure, the Doodlebug, by buying tickets to this raffle. The Doodlebug is a 1930 engine and baggage car that was used in New Mexico. It is an irreplaceable part of NM's railroad history.

You can get your raffle tickets at the SW Model RR Museum any time they're open. Hours are every Thursday and Friday from 12:30pm to 3:30pm (unless otherwise posted) and every Saturday from 12:30pm to 5:00pm (unless otherwise posted).

Calling all supporters! Our newest junior member is currently holding a fund raiser and advertising campaign. First prize is a Sky Railway Sunset Serenade for 2 (Acoma Car Upgrade) valued at $300. Second prize is a $50 lunch gift certificate to the Fred Harvey Whistle Stop Cafe (donated by the magnificent folks at the Harvey House Museum here in Belen). Third prize is an NMRX Rail Runner Family 4-Pack (valued at $40). Tickets are $5 for 1; or $10 for 3. Please stop by the Museum to purchase tickets from any of our volunteers. You do not have to be present to win – so please fill out your tickets legibly and with accurate contact info so we can reach you. ***We want to acknowledge and thank ALL the organizations who so generously donated these prizes. Please give them your support and check them out. We speak from personal experience when we say that these companies rock.

We heart teachers!

Teacher Book Fair: Retired educator and Friends of the Belen Public Library board member Mary Esquibel (center) restocks tables at the Teachers Book Fair held recently by the Friends in downtown Belen. More than three dozen local teachers and home-schoolers filled bags with free K-8 books and teacher resource materials.

Religion books are now ON SALE at 4 for $1.
Cookbooks are now ON SALE at 2 for $1.

The sale is ongoing until we announce an end date.

The bookstore is at 513 Becker Avenue in Belen. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 12 noon to 5pm. Cash or card.

Tomorrow is the day! Drop into the Belen Public Library on Wednesday 5/6 between 2pm and 5pm to sign up for their Summer Reading Program, which is always loads of fun (and involves prizes!). While you’re there, you can:

The bookstore just went from somewhat-hidden to in-yer-face with a big, bright window decal from Able & Wi***es. Our building setback presents a challenge, but now it's a bit harder to drive or walk by without noticing us.

It's so nice to have a sign company here in town. They are easy to work with and reasonably priced. They included creation of the graphic file plus installation. All we did was Windex the window beforehand.

Thank you to the City of Belen for their continuing support. And thanks, Able & Wi***es! Way to hook some bookworms. 🪱 🪱 🪱
