Odin's Heart Foundation

Odin's Heart Foundation Ensuring families and caregivers of children with rare genetic diseases are seen. We help the helpers Of crisis?

“Here to help the Helpers”
Odin’s Heart Foundation serves the families and caregivers of patients suffering from rare medical conditions by providing them financial and community support.

☑ What is a rare disease? In the United States, a rare disease is defined as a condition that affects fewer than 200,000 people in the US. There may be as many as 7,000 rare diseases, and between 25-30 million A

mericans are estimated to be living with one. (Source: https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/pages/31/faqs-about-rare-diseases). The rarer the disease, the more isolating the experience of the caretakers can be.

☑ Why does Odin’s Heart exist? What do we say to our children and ourselves in times of strife? Or emergency? “Look for the Helpers.”
Why do we say this? Because we know that among us, the helpers will rise up and be there for us, no matter what it takes. These helpers give the rest of us something to hope for and believe in. Without them, the situation, and even outcome, will be drastically different. What is the human experience without the support and aid of our fellow man? As we recognize the value of their role to society, we must also recognize the hardship of being a caretaker for those in great need. This stress is especially crushing when your loved one is suffering from a rare condition. The general public may not know or understand such conditions and the toll they take on the families and caregivers of those who live with them. The desire to care for others can sometimes erode their own care for themselves and they often find themselves feeling isolated or without support. It is imperative that we remind the caregivers of the world how important they are and that they are seen.

Hi friends! Thanksgiving and holiday season is already here. For me, it’s a sweet reminder to slow down, breathe deep, and really soak it all in. It’s also a meaningful time to reflect on how Grace and Gratitude continue to sustain us through every season and throughout our lives. Perhaps you can relate or maybe this a reminder to pause a moment to reflect.

Through this work, and throughout my life, I have witnessed, experienced, and have come to believe that connecting grace and gratitude is a touchstone for us to return to, whether it’s in moments of joy or moments of struggle or loss.

It’s a place we can reach for again and again, because it helps us come home to ourselves, to each other, and to a power greater than ourselves, at anytime, anywhere, regardless of the circumstances.

I've learned that sharing a moment of grace and gratitude with someone change lives.

It's because of this, I'm extending an open invitation to commit and join me in 30 days of Gratitude challenge.

To get started, simply click on https://connectinggraceandgratitude.com/pages/30-days-of-gratitude

Then, beginning January 1, you will receive 30 days of gratitude emails directly from me filled with quotes, gentle reminders, journal prompts, and more.

I'm excited to share this work and 1 million Heart Movement connecting 1 million Hearts with Grace and Gratitude and look forward to having you join in!

We’re still smiling after an unforgettable Pawchella a few weeks ago.🎉🐾

A huge THANK YOU goes out to the amazing volunteers whose energy and dedication helped Odin’s Dock connect with hundreds of people. Your support allowed us to spread awareness for caregivers of children with rare genetic conditions — and that impact is truly priceless.

We'd like to express our massive appreciation to Einstein Dock Diving for bringing their incredible expertise to the event! You helped create thrilling moments for our pups and highlighted the competition for everyone involved.

To all the competitors and their four-legged stars — your enthusiasm lit up the dock and made every jump count. And to the judges, thank you for your fairness and focus, making sure everyone felt valued.

And a sincere shout-out to the entire team that organized Pawchella — your vision and hard work made this event a meaningful celebration for the whole community.

From heart-pounding jumps to heartfelt conversations, Pawchella reminded us what community looks like. Thank you for being part of Odin’s Dock and helping us leap forward in our mission of care and awareness. 💙🐶

Drop your favorite Pawchella photos in the comments — we’d love to see your moments!

Ever feel like caregiving has no off switch?

You wake up already tired.
You move from task to task without a pause.
You give every piece of yourself—and wonder if anyone sees it.

Every day looks like this for the caregiver:

❤️ Helping someone before helping yourself
🌀 Running on little sleep and a lot of stress
🥣 Forgetting to eat or eating whatever’s easy
💬 Rarely having real conversations outside of care
💡 Feeling invisible, even when you're always present

Here’s what most people miss:

Caregiving isn’t a job. It's a full-body, full-heart, full-time commitment.
And it’s why *respite care*** is not a luxury—it’s a lifeline.

Without rest:
- Burnout builds.
- Health declines.
- Mental fog rolls in.

But everything changes when caregivers are given a short break to breathe, reflect, and restore.
That rest doesn’t just benefit them—it helps the people they care for, too.

Our Founder, Rachel Zipsie, created the **Moments of Grace** book with caregivers at the top of my mind.
Even small actions like pulling a note from a jar that says “breathe” or “you matter” can ground you.
One page. One minute. One breath.

Want to help someone who's always helping others?

→ Grab a copy of *Moments of Grace* or send it directly to a caregiver you know.
→ Proceeds will support Odin's Heart Foundation programs.
→ Share this with someone who gives without limits

Let them know:

You are seen.
You are valued.
And today, you deserve a moment of grace.
