Had a fantastic time at Aldersgate United Methodist Church Grand Rapids talking about pronouns. It is always great to connect organizations doing good work and wanting to put their best foot forward in affirming and including everyone!

Excited to chat about pronouns and their importance on October 27th!

Excited to chat about pronouns and their importance on October 27th!

Have you wondered why some people list pronouns after their name?

Join us Oct. 27 at 10:45 (or shortly after worship) for a discussion about why pronouns matter.

Led by Dani Patrick (they/them) this discussion will help us learn about the importance of using a person’s preferred pronouns and gain a better understanding of the differences between them. Come learn more about the reasons behind someone’s pronouns and the positive effects addressing someone by their pronouns can have in their lives. You have questions? Join the discussion and walk away with a better understanding in a safe and supportive environment.

Dani is currently a church administrator at Trinity UMC and seminary student at Chicago Theological Seminar focusing on LGBTQ+ Studies. Dani is married to their wife Erica and has two children, Brayvn and Ezra. Dani is a founder of an organization called Prism Pathway in Belding, MI that focuses on having community conversations around LGBTQ+ issues in small rural areas.

Shirt Pre-Order Update from Grand Rapids Pitbull Alliance!

Thank you to all who have ordered!

PRIDE SHIRT Pre-Order Update:

Thank you to everyone who ordered a shirt!! 🙏🏽

There seems to be some confusion on pick up and that the shirts are ready, we just wanted to clarify and remind everyone these shirts were all Pre-order until August 9th at 4pm. The order was placed at 5pm on August 9th. These will take 1 to 2 weeks to complete from the screen printer depending on their current schedule of clients and print work.

*We will contact you via email (which should have been provided at checkout) once the shirts are complete to arrange pickup.

We sold out of our first batch of shirts in July. We had many requests for the shirts after they sold out, we made the decision to do the second batch as Preorder to help us eliminate upfront cost. Our nonprofit organization cannot spare any extra funds at this time. In addition to not having a overstock of shirts not sold, this is also something we cannot afford as a small nonprofit organization.

Below is what was shared on Pre-order in all social media post.

"Shirt pickup details:

Once the order is complete by the screen printer, arrangements will be made to pick up the shirts at our Pet Support Center in Kentwood or at one of the many local events we will be at.

Delivery if local in some cases and we may be able to arrange shipping, please email us at [email protected] to talk about shipping or delivery."

Halfway to our goal of 50 shirts sold. Help support us and Grand Rapids Pitbull Alliance!

Halfway to our goal of 50 shirts sold. Help support us and Grand Rapids Pitbull Alliance!

1 week left to pre-order 👕 and help us raise much needed funds to help keep pets healthy and happy with their families.

We have a goal to sell 50 shirts so far we have 25 sold, halfway to our goal! Thank you everyone 🙏🏽

Help us reach 50 shirts! Help raise funds for Prism Pathway and GRPBAs Van (Wellness Wagon) Fund!

50% of proceeds from all sales of the 2024 GRPBA Pride T-shirts with the artwork of the amazing Aaron McCall will be donated to Prism Pathway a local nonprofit dedicated to providing a healthy space for LGBTQ+ individuals, their families and friends to find community, receive education and pursue advocacy efforts in a small town setting.

The other 50% of the funds raised will go into our GRPBA Van fund, the GRPBA Wellness Wagon!

Grand Rapids Pit Bull Alliance has grown tremendously over the past 2 years, outgrowing both our Pet Support Center space as well as the use of personal vehicles for outreach. In December of 2023 we created a Van fund to start putting a little bit of money raised from each event to start saving for a van. We have a long way to go but determined we will reach our goal!

A Van will improve Grand Rapids Pit Bull Alliance Outreach efforts in our community, expand the services we provide in the community and help serve more of our rural friends in Kent County.

With a van we can provide:

* A mobile wellness & vaccine clinic.
* Transport multiple pets to large scale spay and neuter clinics.
* Assist our TNR friends with transportation of cats
* Go directly to homebound friends for pet wellness care.
* Provide transportation to pet appointments for our unsheltered friends.
* Provide transportation to pet appointments for those with barriers to transportation.
*Add more mobile pet food distribution locations & dates in the community.
* Help Michigan shelters and rescues transport pets from shelter to shelter or shelter to rescue.
* And so much more!
