[PSA: Watch the video.] Experts agree the safest way for your child to enjoy the slide is alone. If you go down the slide with your child on your lap you risk injury to your child. An estimated 350,000 children under the age of 5 are injured on slides each year.

In a Facebook post that’s gone viral, a mother named Heather Clare shared a graphic image of her young daughter’s unexpected injury when riding down a playground slide. Clare says she hopes to protect other children from potential harm. TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones reports.
