As you are aware, our community was devastated by a fatal fire in Waldorf on Sunday. Please see the communication below as to how to help this family.

Good afternoon, friends -

Thank you so much for your patience while waiting to receive word. Myself and several neighbors were on the scene with the family today assisting them as best we could.

The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with expenses:

Please note: I do not have any affiliation with this fundraiser — I am simply sharing at the family’s request so our community can come together in support.

Ways to help:

• GoFundMe QR Code Posters will be available at the family’s restaurant, China Express (3223 Plaza Dr, Waldorf, MD 20603).

• The family is also accepting Visa gift cards. These can be emailed directly to the nephew at: [email protected].

• The Crab Boat (9425 Berry Rd, Waldorf, MD 20603) will serve as a drop-off location for Visa gift cards and will also have the GoFundMe QR code posted.

We also are working to gather the names of all the stations & agencies who responded. We want to show our gratitude and support to those who answered the call. I believe we all can do this by dropping off donuts, coffee, sandwiches, etc.

Thank you to MISSION BBQ - Waldorf for donating food yesterday to the first responders!!

Another CC neighbor is mobilizing efforts to gather smoke alarms to provide to our community.

Our neighbors are going through an unimaginable loss, and every show of support — no matter how small — can help bring them comfort in this time of grief. The show of love and support from our Charles County *family* has been absolutely overwhelming. Thank you all. Truly.

Tonight is the LAST night of Vampire Manor for 2024. Ticket sales are from 7:30-11. Park at Bel Alton Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. get your final scare in and purchase your limited edition VM Tshirt!

Tomorrow starts the last weekend of Vampire Manor. We will be selling tickets from 7:30-10 Thursday and 7:30-11 Friday and Saturday. Park at Bel Alton VFD and take the bus over.

Actors still needed and welcomed. Arrive at Vampire Manor at 6:30 for casting.
