2024 was a difficult year for some, but as we close it out, the JLF board would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. When we officially launched The Jason Los Foundation 3 months ago, our goal was to reach 200 members and donate $10,000 through charitable givings and grief support by year end. We are grateful and humbled to say that we have greatly surpassed that goal in a very short amount of time. This is all due to you, the amazing community of JLF members around us.

Thanks to all of you for joining as members, supporting, donating, and helping. We are fully committed to the foundation’s mission, and each and every dollar raised will go towards giving back to the community in Jason’s honor, just as he would have wanted.

Each year for his birthday, 8th grader, Kyle Breeden, collects toys and donates to TOYS FOR TOTS. This year, JLF partnered with Kyle on this initiative. Thanks to the continued generosity of our almost 300 JLF members, our foundation hosted the first “Give $10, Match $10” event several weeks ago, in which close to 100 kids in our community participated. On December 18, these toys were donated at the annual TOYS FOR TOTS GALA. It was a wonderful evening!

Side Note: host Justin Tucker is 7 for 7 in field goal attempts since this event 😄💜

Tonight, high school students from Archbishop Curley, Calvert Hall, John Carroll, Loyola, Mercy, NDP, and St. Paul’s gathered together for an IGNITE session at the Empower 4 Life Headquarters. Program Director, Megan Barrett, spoke to the teens about youth homelessness in the Baltimore area, and had an interactive discussion about how they can be empowered to be change makers in the community. She challenged them to always ask themselves 2 questions: What are the needs? and How can we help? They wrapped gifts, decorated stockings, and made “kindness elf” poems. Thanks to the continued generosity of our JLF members, our foundation was able to adopt 11 homeless teens in Baltimore this holiday season. Each teen will receive 1 outfit, 1 “wish list item”, 1 blanket, and 1 stocking filled with goodies. Huge thanks to Heather Radebaugh for coordinating this impactful event!

In honor of GIVING TUESDAY, JLF hosted a “Give $10, Match $10” program to benefit Toys for Tots. 100 kids from St. Joseph School (8th graders and their siblings), Coppermine Boys 2011 ECNL and Academy soccer teams, Cub Scout Troop 564, and Harford United 2011 Boys Premier Soccer Team, gathered at Target White Marsh and Bel Air to shop for kids less fortunate this season. These toys will be donated at the Toys for Tots Gala later this month. Big thanks to Richelle Arnold, Belinda Axt, Samantha Breeden, Cindy Feherty, Jenn Schuler, Heather Shiel, Christina Straub, and Zhandra Raver for coordinating this event! It was a chilly morning, but warmed us up really fast! This is her 16th year doing her annual post turkey- burn charity workout, and we are so grateful that she chose JLF to honor this year! Thank you, Kara! It was a blast!
