POLICY UPDATE:

For those who have been waiting on the Policy Acknowledgement Update, as you know, I have filed a grievance. It currently is going through that process. But we do have a little guidance in the mean time. Initially Union legal has reviewed the document and while there are some concerns, that is something the Union will have to discuss with the company in the days ahead. Maybe even a part of my grievance.

There are concerns from some members and board members over the time it took to learn and understand all policies if you read word for word all of it. Paid time, so far it isn’t. There are some contractual concerns I have which are a part of my grievence. We shall see.

In the mean time, I have signed the policy in workday.

That’s the best answer I can offer ar this point. We have been told we are not allowed to share the actual attorney opinions and instead deliver the message.

Today we celebrate International Flight Attendant Day. Thousands of crew, help safely transport passengers to their destinations every day. As a collective, we love our traveling careers and work hard to ensure that every flight is a safe and memorable experience for our customers!

It’s great to see progress in Safety.

Our Members reported safety concerns over the years as it relates to turbulence. The FAA knew it, ICAO knew it, A4A for sure knew about turbulence related injury. Upon becoming Safety Chair in 2024 it became priority project number one with the second being exploding cans.

Now the work all of us have done over these years is finally being adopted by other carriers including American Airlines. It amazes me they are not altering service levels on short routes and I’m sure this will change if they advocate strong enough to make those changes.

American Airlines is requiring flight attendants to be seated earlier during descent after research found turbulence injuries are most likely to occur before landing.

Thank you to all who attended the Cabin Pressure LIVE Podcast last night. It was a pleasure speaking with everyone and I look forward to our next LIVE.

In the mean time, here is a little throwback of my wife and I, Kristie attending a congressional hearing regarding security rule changes for what passengers could and could not bring on board "Knives on Planes" Oh man! To be young again.. In June we celebrate 26 years.
