The primary purpose of Harford County ADC is to enable the participant to achieve and/or maintain an optimal level of independence that allows him or her to live and function in the community. The intent of Adult Daycare is to prevent premature or inappropriate institutionalization for the disabled older adult and allow the individual to remain at home while aging in place. By utilizing a flexible
, multidisciplinary approach, Harford County Adult Daycare provides a program of socialization designed to respond to the psychological, social, physical, and economic needs of the participants. The focus is on enhancing the participant’s quality of life in his or her more dependent years. Our goal is to improve the participant’s quality of life, to provide assistance toward maintaining the participant’s capacity for self care and personal hygiene, to stimulate and support the participant’s mental and physical capabilities, to improve social and interactional skills, and to offer respite to the caregiver.
