As we prepare to observe Memorial Day, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mark Koenig for replacing the flags and mowing at Veterans Memorial Park. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This weekend is about remembering and honoring the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our great country, and what better way to show that gratitude than by helping keep our memorial grounds looking their best for the community to gather and reflect.

Thank you, Mark, for your continued support of the VFW and all veterans. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

Please also join us as we honor our fallen brothers and sisters during our Memorial Day Ceremony & Luncheon on Monday, May 25th at 10:00 AM at the VFW. All are welcome as we come together in remembrance.

Today we remember one of the most significant moments in world history β€” Victory in Europe Day, May 8, 1945. On this day, the fighting in Europe during World War II officially came to an end.

Eighty years later, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the men and women who helped defeat tyranny and defend freedom across the world. So many never made it home, and so many others carried the weight of war with them long after the victory celebrations ended.

As members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, we understand that freedom has never been free. VE Day was more than a military victory β€” it was a reminder of what can be accomplished when brave Americans stand together in service to something greater than themselves.

Today, we remember the Greatest Generation and all those who served during WWII. Their legacy lives on through all of us who continue to serve veterans, our communities, and this nation.

Please join us in taking a moment today to remember, honor, and never forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today we recognize Loyalty Day β€” a day set aside to reflect on what it truly means to be loyal to this great nation and the freedoms we are blessed to have.

As Texans and as Americans, we are reminded that our veterans have shown that loyalty in the most selfless way possible β€” through their service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protect this country.

Loyalty Day is more than just a date on the calendar. It is a reminder for all of us to stand united, to honor the values of liberty, justice, and equality, and to never take for granted the freedoms so many fought to defend.

Today, I encourage everyone to proudly display your American flag, take a moment to reflect, and join in honoring the men and women who have remained faithful to this nation.

May we never forget that freedom stands because loyalty still lives. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
