Beech Creek Blanchard Santa Jump

Beech Creek Blanchard Santa Jump We started the planning in March 2016. We added vendors, kids crafts and bike, ham & turkey giveaways to get us off the ground.

A group of volunteers from various non-profit organizations in the Beech Creek/Blancahrd, PA area got together in March 2016 and decided to bring back the much loved event from the past.....Santa Claus parachuting onto the ballfield!!! Members of the Beech Creek Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, SONS & Riders, Beech Creek Community Center, Beech Creek Borough, Beech Creek Firehall and community members st

arted planning the 1st Annual return of the event. While the actual parachuting in 2016 didn't happen due to very cold temps and high winds, there was still 1000+ people attending the event and watching Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves and a snowman being escorted to town on top of a firetruck. This event will continue to be an annual event with the help of area businesses, people and organizations. Non profit organizations in our area will be chosen each year to be the recipients of the proceeds from the event. We are aiming to make this event bigger with every year that passes, so come out and show your support!!

As we close out another years books, we reflect on just how great our little community really is. 10 years ago, Beech Creek’s late Mayor Justin Kline came to members of Beech Creek Borough and Beech Creek American Legion to resurrect the community favorite Santa Jump, an event that if you remember from almost 30 years ago, started with an idea that C***k Bittner had. Together with Larry Sherman and music by Dale Powers, they had Santa skydive into town and greet children, all while they sipped on hot chocolate served from a kettle, and Little Debbie’s cakes donated by Doyle and Wanda Dehaas. The event eventually faded away, as did all those involved with creating the original event.

Fast forward to 2016 when the idea to resurrect started to come to fruition with help from members of Beech Creek Borough, Beech Creek Legion, Beech Creek Legion Auxiliary, Beech Creek Legion SAL and members of the Friendship Community Center. A board was formed. An idea was created. The idea was to hold an annual event for the Beech Creek - Blanchard Community that will raise money for the non-profit organizations in our area that can use funds to help stay in operation and cover overhead costs. We brought back the skydiving as a headliner, added in vendors for your Christmas shopping, crafts and games for kids, bike and gift card giveaways. Over time, we added a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing.

We often get asked “what is the purpose of the Beech Creek-Blanchard Santa Jump?” THIS is our purpose and with continued support of all our sponsors, vendors and community, we continue to grow and give year after year. We want to keep expanding on things we offer to do during our 6 hour event and with more volunteers, we could do just that.

10 years! 9 events in that 10 years (thanks again, COVID)! With tonight’s donations made to the volunteer fire company ($7,000) and the friendship community center ($3,000), we have donated a total of $61,000!!!!

Next years event is scheduled for November 14th!

We wish every single one of you a Merry Christmas and a joyous Holiday Season!!

Thank you all for the great turnout yesterday! A complete list of prize winners will be posted sometime this week.

We will have our final meeting on Monday, November 17th at 6:30pm at the Beech Creek Social Hall. At that time, we will go over this years numbers, pay final expenses, determine donations and elect officers for 2026 and 2027.

We would LOVE to keep expanding this event and adding more things to do but you need volunteers to be able to do that successfully. So if you want to get involved with a great community holiday event, come to this meeting and start sharing your ideas.

The weather for tomorrow is looking like it will be the perfect, beautiful day for our 10th anniversary!!! Come hungry. Come to shop. Come to crafts with the kids. Get in on the free giveaways and the ones that are not free. As of now, we have approximately 115-120 raffle items to be won! Each sheet of raffle tickets purchased will get the door prize ticket entered for A very special door prize valued at over $500!! 50/50 drawing! A special drawing for a lottery board with $200 worth of lottery tickets, donated by McGhee Scrap Company. 8 bikes!!! 67 vendors!!!

You don’t want to miss it!

Remember, we will be too busy to respond to messages asking if the jump is still happening. Good weather = successful parachuting at 1:00!!!

11/04/2025

One final reminder before all the hustle and bustle this week always brings - our volunteers are so busy working at the event that we do not have time to check Facebook or read and respond to all the messages we get asking "is Santa still jumping" or "when are you doing the drawings".....please understand that and work with us. If the weather is not pouring down rain or high winds....THEY ARE STILL JUMPING at 1:00!! The drawings will always begin at about 2:00, or shortly after everyone returns from watching the skydivers. Vendors are set up from 9am-3pm and we will do a live, early in the day to show you a lot of what they have to offer.

Thank you all for your ongoing and continued support of this community event!!! We appreciate each and every one of you!!

Only 4 more days until this years Santa jump! I’ll be updating our sponsor and vendor lists later today but wanted to share for those that have asked if we have room for anymore vendors. The answer is yes!

We have 1 indoor spot that opened up because the vendor chose to move outside. The spot does have electric.

Outside - we did some measuring, chose the area to expand our space and as of now, we can accommodate 6-10 additional, 10x10 (roughly) spots. If you’re interested, you need to let us know ASAP.

We are still looking for donations to our Chinese auction. We want to make this the best one yet! If you would be interested in donating, please contact Billie Orndorf, Greg Small, Melissa Burd, Angel Falls or Wendy Bechdel and we will make arrangements to get it from you. All donations should be at the Beech Creek Social Hall by 5pm on Friday, November 7th. Thank you all again for your continued support.
