Bedford Historical Society The Historical Society was founded in 1955 to collect, preserve and interpret the history of Bedford,

We are a member of the American Association of Museums, The Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums, The Ohio Historical Society, The National Trust and the Northeast Ohio Inter-Museum Council. The holdings of the Bedford Historical Society are listed with the Library of Congress in Washington DC. Archival information is available to researchers locally, nationally and internationally

. All of the Bedford Historical Society buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

1874 Town Hall; contains exhibits, archives, genealogies and a 12,000 volume library
1832 Hezekiah Dunham House; restored to reflect three critical periods of occupancy.

1892 Old Baptist Church; late Gothic Revival with a restored sanctuary. Also known as the Community Building, the lower level is modernized and available for rental. Additionally;
A 1920s era Passenger Station is on view in the 1882 Wheeling & Lake Erie train depot.

Time to clean out the house and make a little scratch! It's the Annual Bedford Historical Society Flea Market! All information is below. The museum is also taking donations for The Fleatique with all proceeds going to the Bedford Historical Society. You can bring your donations (please no clothes) to the museum during business hours. All donations must be in good condition and clean please.
Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-4
Wednesdays and Fridays from 10-2
Every second Saturday of the month from
10-2

Take a picture on your phone with Lil' John for $5 with her all proceeds going to the Bedford Historical Society

I love my hometown so much! Throw us a disaster and we'll come shining through like champs! Thank you to everyone for participating in this incredible project. Thank you to Tim Taylor, Brett Holycross,, Bedford Historical Society, Artists: Rick Bacho, Sandy Spinks, Trisha Wilms, Sarah Gnoddie, the talented students from Bedford City Schools and the Bedford Recreation Department and Jack Dragga for creating this incredible video and if I've left anyone out I apologize and include you as well! Drumroll please! Come meet the iconic Lil' John in person during The Bedford Historical Society's 2026 Strawberry Festival 🍓! He's written a book that is going to make you laugh as hard as his antics did and he is signing them Saturday afternoon from 1-3pm. Take a picture of yourselves and Lil' John on your phone for $5 with all proceeds going directly to The Bedford Historical Society. Come laugh 😂 like you did watching him on TV on Fox 8.
