Mission and Goal: Our mission and our goal at the Bedford Humane Society, Inc. is the elimination of pet overpopulation and suffering in the town and county of Bedford through education, spay/neuter programs, and pet adoptions as well as the prevention of animal cruelty and neglect through advocacy and humane education. Vision: Our vision is to build a caring community where no companion animal is

born unwanted, where they are all happy, healthy, and well fed. All the animals with BHS are in foster homes so not only are they getting the care they need to get back on their feet, but also the attention and training to become a wonderful family member. While we don’t get the show animals that everyone flocks to, here they get a fresh start with us, a new beginning, and a whole new lease on life.

Meet Sparks

Sparks is one of a litter of four kittens who were born to a stray mama on a farm in Bedford. Once they were old enough to be weaned, the owners of the farm turned them over to BHS for care and adoption. They have turned out to be the most adorable, fun and loving kittens!

Sparks is such a handsome boy with the most beautiful facial markings. Like all his siblings, he loves to be held and cuddled.

Sparks is a healthy, happy kitten who is full of energy and purrs! He is FIV/FELV negative, has been dewormed, has had his first FVRCP vaccination and will be microchipped prior to adoption. Because he is not old enough to be neutered, he is not available for adoption outside counties bordering Bedford county. BHS strives to adopt kittens in pairs, especially when they are siblings, and since there are two boys and two girls in this litter, the numbers are perfect! Meet Bitsy

Bitsy is one of a litter of four kittens who were born to a stray mama on a farm in Bedford. Once they were old enough to be weaned, the owners of the farm turned them over to BHS for care and adoption. They have turned out to be the most adorable, fun and loving kittens!

Bitsy is the smallest of the four and she is beautiful! She is black and white with medium/long fur. She was mighty feisty when she first arrived at her foster home, but has since grown to be a very loving kitten. Like her siblings, Bitsy loves to be held and cuddled. Shes even really good about getting her nails trimmed!

Bitsy is a healthy, happy kitten who is full of energy and purrs! She is FIV/FELV negative, has been dewormed, has had her first FVRCP vaccination and will be microchipped prior to adoption. Meet Buddy

Buddy is one of a litter of four kittens who were born to a stray mama on a farm in Bedford. Once they were old enough to be weaned, the owners of the farm turned them over to BHS for care and adoption. They have turned out to be the most adorable, fun and loving kittens!

Buddy is the biggest of the bunch. He runs to his foster mom like a dog whenever she is near. Like all his siblings, Buddy loves to be held and cuddled.

Ginny is a bit of a tomboy. She loves to rough house with her siblings, but is the prettiest little thing! Shes a grey tabby with the sweetest little face. Like all her siblings, Ginny loves to be held and cuddled and give tiny nose kisses.

In June 2024, Jolene came to Bedford Humane Society as a young puppy with four siblings.

Today, in June 2026, Jolene is still waiting for a family of her own.

Over the last two years, she's grown into a loving, playful, soccer-ball-obsessed pup who gives the very best hugs and adores every foster puppy she meets. Everyone who knows Jolene loves her.

So why is she still waiting?
