Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress.

As Rotarians, we are committed to building stronger communities through service, understanding, and inclusion. Juneteenth reminds us of the importance of recognizing our shared history while continuing to work toward a future where opportunity, dignity, and respect are available to all.

The Rotary Club of Bedford joins communities across the nation in celebrating this important day of reflection, education, and unity.

Happy Juneteenth.

Our meeting will be virtual this week. Contact us via our website if you want the link. Our speaker is David Albert, founder of the Permagardens Foundation. David is also the founder of Friendly Water for the World, a group that we worked with for our first water catchment basins in Kenya. It should be an interesting topic!

to Saturday, May 9th, where despite the rainy, chilly weather, the semi-annual Bike Helmet Giveaway was a huge success β€” fitting 30 kids with free helmets, running a bicycle safety course with the Bedford PD, offering free bike tune-ups from First Baptist Church volunteers, and handing out reflective armbands from the "Be Seen, Be Safe" project. A true community effort keeping Bedford's kids safe on the road! πŸͺ–βœ¨

As Rotarians, service is at the heart of everything we do β€” but it pales in comparison to the service of those who gave their lives for our nation. This Memorial Day, the Rotary Club of Bedford honors all who have fallen and stands alongside the Bedford community in gratitude and remembrance.

Take a moment today to reflect, remember, and give thanks.

In case you missed it, Ralph is in the news! Congrats, Ralph!
