On November 20, 2019, Laura Stack suddenly acquired the undesired wisdom of knowing what it is like to lose one’s child, when her 19-year-old son, Johnny, died by su***de. He became psychotic after dabbing high-potency ma*****na concentrates. Laura founded Johnny’s Ambassadors, with the mission to educate
parents and teens about the dangers of today’s high-THC ma*****na on adolescent brain development, mental illness, and su***de.

Please join us on Wednesday, February 16th at 7pm as Laura bravely shares Johnny's story, along with important information to help parents and caregivers protect our teens.

This virtual event is free to attend, but registration is required. See flyer for details and visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-dangerous-truth-about-todays-ma*****na-registration-225929490187 to register.

Adolescence is a time of exploration, social experimentation, and burgeoning intellectual curiosity. However, trying to meet perfectionistic standards can often guide students to sacrifice the curiosity, connection, and passion that they will need to identify their values/guiding principles and nurture their emerging sense of identity. Teens often adopt unhealthy habits, compromising their sense of right and wrong and–perhaps most importantly–losing themselves. Above all, high school and college-aged kids should feel safe to explore many paths and make mistakes along the road to self-discovery.

Please join us on January 27th at 7pm for a FREE webinar and Q&A focusing on why our teens are so stressed, what thousands of years of wisdom have taught us about the essential building blocks for creating a good life, and what parents might do to encourage a genuine and optimistic path towards adulthood.

Parents and caring adults don’t want to overreact to teen moodiness, yet they also don’t want to ignore serious symptoms. This is a timely concern with the Surgeon General’s warning about the emerging youth mental health crisis exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, depression and anxiety symptoms have doubled since the start of the pandemic, with a rise in emergency department visits by teens for suspected su***de attempts. Parents and caregivers need to know that mental health challenges in young people are treatable, and often preventable.

Please join us next Monday, 1/24 at 7pm for a FREE webinar and Q&A with Dr. Diane DiGiacomo. She will address the developmentally normative signs of moodiness in teens and the red flags for depression and other psychiatric disorders. She will also share tips on how to respond constructively in interactions with your adolescent, as well as how to access and obtain psychiatric or psychological assistance, and community and school supports.

As parents and caregivers, protecting the health and safety of the children and teens in our lives is important to us. The national debate around ma*****na, and its recent legalization in NY state, open up a host of questions for many.

Please join us virtually tomorrow evening at 7pm as University of Washington professor and researcher, Dr. Jason Kilmer, shares the
latest science and information on ma*****na and the impact of legalization on youth. In this timely and engaging session, Dr. Kilmer will also explore the important role parents and caring adults can play in reducing the risks associated with ma*****na and protecting the health of the young people in our lives.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required. You may register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ma*****na-lessons-learned-post-legalization-implications-for-youth-registration-201109442757 and see flyer below for more details.
