As we are witnessing an increased demand for donations, the Bedford Sheriffs Department's recently collected over 632 pounds of food during their recent shred event, all donated items are sorted by volunteers and distributed to those in need. Our combined efforts are making a difference in our community.

In the life of every major appliance, there comes a time when replacement is more sensible than repair. We have 2 Magic Chef freezers that were manufactured in Canada in 1997 and 1998 that have reached that point. We need to replace them even though we would rather be spending our funds on food and client electric bills than on equipment these days, especially with summer upon us.

We’re faced with the need to conduct a Freezer Replacement Facebook Fundraiser to hopefully cover the total cost of $ 2500-$3000 which includes delivery, haul-away and service warranty. If you can help us, a personal check or PayPal payment with “Freezer” in the memo section would be most welcome.

Bedford Electric customers, please be aware that PJM, our regional grid operator, has issued a Hot Weather Alert for this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon due to expected high temperatures across the region.

While we do not currently anticipate reaching a PJM peak event, higher regional energy demand can still lead to increased energy costs. In addition, heavy air conditioning use during hot weather often results in higher overall electricity usage and may impact customer bills.

As temperatures rise, we encourage customers to use energy wisely when possible and stay safe in the heat.
