SCUDEM starts next week! How will your students use differential equations to tackle a real-world problem?

Beginning October 16, teams of up to three students will choose a challenge in physics and engineering, chemistry and life sciences, or social sciences, build a model, and share their findings in a 10-minute video presentation.

Some of the best things students gain from a math modeling contest don’t show up in the final results.

They learn to work through disagreements, try a different approach when something isn’t working, and tackle a problem even when they’re not sure where to start.

They also get to see what they’re capable of when they take the lead.

That’s a lot to take away from one contest.
